Two Tribes considering following up Toki Tori 2 release by bringing EDGE and RUSH to Wii U too
Trend of mobile games for the Wii U GamePad continue
Continuing an interesting trend, Toki Tori 2 developers Two Tribes are considering bringing their PC library to the Wii U. Heading to Twitter, Two Tribes discussed what they were planning to do next as Toki Tori 2 development comes to a wrap. It figures that if they're finding success on the Wii U shop, why not bring their other recent PC titles to the console too? Expect to see RUSH and EDGE make the console transition soon.
"Now that Toki Tori 2 is in the final stages it's time to look ahead. We're thinking of bringing our cube games EDGE and RUSH to Wii U too."
If you haven't checked out Two Tribes' 3D cube games, I'd absolutely recommend them. They're got some great, complex puzzles that mix spacial awareness with reaction time and if they added a good premise on top of it I'd say I like them more than Toki Tori. I'll link their trailers below in case you're curious.
Jumping on the Wii U eShop bandwagon isn't the only trend Two Tribes is looking at, they're also considering making RUSH a GamePad primary title, with the TV being the alternate. In this way, they're encouraging the GamePad's use as a mobile platform, like a tablet that can't leave the living room. This is a trend we may see a lot more of, as strong mobile title try to capitalize on Nintendo's promising eShop environment for the Wii U.
"For RUSH we may end up making the TV the optional display, instead of the other way around which a lot of games are doing.
Touch screen and 3D puzzle game go together well. Who needs a TV anyway ;)"
Look forward to more Two Tribes games on the Wii U soon, and make sure to watch for more news on Toki Tori 2 (which will hopefully have a release date in the coming months).
