Defiance's January "Advance Mission Beta 1" shipping ark hunters to future San Francisco
Beta to include tutorial, co-op and competitive game modes
After the initial beta announcement and registration site went up for Defiance, we were left waiting for details on what the beta would actually include. Today that changed, and the great news is the Defiance beta will have a little bit of everything: tutorial, co-op, competitive multiplayer and open world multiplayer too. A pretty expansive beta to be sure.
Take on the role of a mercenary/treasure hunter recovering alien technology and just go register for the beta already:
"Players who participate in Advanced Mission Beta 1 will have full access to the tutorial, the expansive terraformed terrain of Mt. Tam, the Waterfront competitive multiplayer map, and the fierce Shadow War open world competitive multiplayer and Arkfall massive co-op boss battles."
If you're not familiar with Mt. Tamalpais' location, the Advance Mission Beta 1 for Defiance will take place in the futuristic setting of the San Francisco bay area. Odds are it's not going to look like the present San Francisco in any regard, but who knows, maybe they'll surprise us.
Defiance is planned for release in April for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Advanced Mission Beta 1 will begin on January 18 (8AM PST) and run through the weekend, ending on January 20 (9PM PST). This first beta event will PC exclusive, I believe.
