It looks like Microsoft is already getting antsy for 2013. PR king and face of XBLA Major Nelson posted a "Counting down to E3" gizmo on his blog today, reminding us it's going to be a very long and very hyped 158 days before the event begins. On top of the post three words sat, gently teasing, and hardly informative: "And it's on." I then turned my computer off. And smashed it. And burned my video games alive.
Anyways, as inane and ridiculous as this post may seem I figured it was a good place to kick up some speculation. Does Larry Hryb's post mean to imply that Microsoft's console likely won't be shown until E3? We've been hearing quiet rumors about the console actually being announced in early 2013, but posting a freaking E3 countdown on January 3 is throwing me for a loop. After all, it's not just going to be a console announcement coming up. There are dozens of launch games to boot, too.
Eh, this is too early and too vague to speculate on, I suppose. Even for me. Nevertheless, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb posted a countdown to E3 on his blog. It might imply something more than readily apparent... perhaps "It's on" is the new console's logo... but only one thing's for certain. It's going to be a long winter, spring, summer until E3.
