We haven't gotten a good look at Defiance since E3, but it looks like that is going to change very soon. An alternate reality themed website just popped up requesting registrations for the third person MMO shooter's upcoming beta. The best of the site though is by far the handful of campy sci-fi trailers lining the site. Keep in mind Defiance is a collaboration with the SyFy channel, the first game to directly interconnect with an ongoing television series. Sign up now, the beta starts in 28 days.
All in all, the "Von Bach Industries" website is very well put together, mixing a variety of trailers, screenshots and other interesting visual elements together to draw in gamers. The addition of strange symbols and what must be an "alien language" font also might signify some sort of ARG, as well. All in all, it's at least a first look at some of the in-game models, gameplay mechanics and themes what will tie together Defiance and its SyFy show tie-in.
Yes, the whole site is a bit campy, but that also gives it its charm. The trailers ring nostalgic to classic games with full-motion-video sequences. Visit the website, learn about Defiance and its various alien species and weaponry. This could be a whole of of fun, even before the game has a release date. Defiance is planned for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and it appears the beta registration is for your platform of choice.
