saevus I'll say it again, but I think you should try and see it from the average player's point of view. A majority of players will never spend money on LoL, a majority of players wait for specific champs they're excited for, a majority have to spend time -- yes, farm -- IP to get that champion.

Will the change persuade more of them to spend money? Yes, but I think that takes away a lot of the spirit of the game already at 6300... let alone 7800 or having to miss the release altogether.

Quick kids, get a leg up and farm or pay up for release heroes that are continuously imba until they are patched over a month from now.

Ah Sublime, we meet again.

The last three(3) champions to be released have been underpowered or fit perfectly into the game. Zed, for example, is someone that I feel needs some touching up but various pro's have expressed satisfaction with him.

Even if each new champion were to be overpowered from the start, I'd prefer new additions to the game rather than a static selection from day one.

Underpowered is still Imba. Humorous to see clearly OP heroes stomping the pub scene while Riot churns out new heroes and brings up the prices of them on top of that.

Sorry but I'm glad I don't play LoL right now.

A lot of the champions played during the Championship were classic champs if I remember. Do you click on anything League-related with a comment that would actually benefit the discussion? It's usually League sucks because X, that's why I play DoTA.

No, LoL is a free to play game. You can choose to pay if you'd like.

You expect champions to be perfectly balanced when they're released? It's impossible to find a perfect balance for almost any champion, yet this game still goes on. Just last week Riot finished nerfing one of the best bursts in the game, and now they're working on buffing her up a bit because the nerf was too large. Riot does what they can, and when something is ridiculously imba, they have hotfixes or patch it immediately.

Don't use this news to be glad you don't play LoL right now, you just have a general disdain for it, which is fine, to each his own.

Do you see me bring up DOTA 2 in my above comments at all?
Pub games are not competitive championship games although pub games probably have better internet connection.

Whats not benefiting to the discussion? They want to bring up prices, they are going to receive shit for it. Take some criticism , this newsfeed isn't just an echobox of "Yes! Riot brought up prices, so awesome I get to farm more. Take my wallet Riot, you are the best devs in the DotA genre."

This news just furthers my dislike of Riot. I don't understand the money pandering and gimmicky nature of the company and why people continue to support them. Valve offers more as a game with less financial obligation, it takes awhile to be able to compete, yes but its well worth it in the end.

Riot is a company. If they can offer things that people are willing to buy with real money and succeed then good for them, maybe Valve needs to try some of that.

I don't care about spending, I'm willing to. It's a great game and it deserves the players money. Maybe some 12 year old with no paper route can bitch about skins and champions costing too much, but I don't think they're focusing on them.

Well if that were true Marc, then DoTA2 would hold the spot for most popular E-Sport.

Not a big deal to be honest. 1500 IP? That's what, ten wins every month? Under this schedule change it will be easier to buy every champ on release anyway. Riot's bumping champ releases by a week, which means on an average release 33% more time to farm. 1500 < 2100.

If a player really wants that release day special occasion goodness, that's still there. And if they barely ever play except to farm for new champs, they'll have more time to do it. For people who don't really care much for that day-1 hype, they can wait it out. In the end, they'll have much more IP left over to use on Runes or something.

This is far better for players than the reverse, which is what Riot's done for new releases thus far. Pulsefire Ez started low, before ramping up. Which means any new players late to the party, get shafted in the end. It also means during that first low price phase, you see that champion every game, which gets super stale. The exact same thing happens on new champ release days, everybody hops on that champ and spams normals attempting to choose it. What Hip said is true, and it can be really annoying for players who want variety in their matches.

tl;dr is:
Making a mountain out of a molehill, 7800 every 3-4 weeks is cheaper than 6300 every 2-3 weeks anyway.

This is of course, going without any mention of price drops from 6300 finally being a normal process, not some hopeful sale. Which saves every last player who doesn't only buy champs when they're first released, quite a lot of IP in the long run. That announcement alone makes me incredibly happy.

Riot didn't build an E-sport as much as they've bought one. Dota 2 is clearly more competitive even if LoL is more fun casually. Free and easy games have lots of players and money, EARTH SHATTERING news, angry birds fits that description yet they don't buy their way into MLG with big numbers and the need to compensate. There is a reason why LoL isn't in TL and no matter how much riot inflates their viewer counts there is no denying that.

I have an idea. How about both the games coexist without fans bickering between the two? It's pathetic enough that there's shit talk and abuse within the communities themselves, I'd say cross-community fighting is just a total waste of time.

Ditnopa That's the comparison Riot is creating though. They're further burdening free-to-play players by restricting access to new champions with this decision. For profit and because they like the idea of creating "exclusivity" for paying customers and hardcore players.

Dota 2 gives all champions for free. It's a difference in philosophy and ethics that should be recognized. I prefer playing League of Legends, but it's decisions like this that make me wish Riot looked at Valve and Dota 2's respect for players and the community more often.

Ethics? Come on now, that's over the top. It takes 10 games like Lorx said, IF that, to get a new champion for the new price from the old price. It's Riot realizing some people do have the drive to play those 10 games to dodge paying money, and also seeing that people are willing to spend that money because they'd prefer to spend their IP on runes and rune pages.

TL = Team Liquid Marc? They're stubborn to be honest. LoL is natural progression, if they refuse to play then that's their prerogative, doesn't mean it's right. If they sincerely don't enjoy it then good for them, but if they want to stay viable and popular LoL is what's next.

A Riot employee, ex-coach of a SC2 team and a shout-caster for LoL claimed League still has at least 5 years left in it's tank, which I thought was generous but he knows more than I. I bet TL would've benefited greatly from a LoL Team.

Anyways this is falling back into fighting over DoTA2 and LoL in general, which I don't have the merit to do. It's been a pleasure, Marc.
