When you think about it, how Sir Hammerlock loves his books and knowledge so much, yesterday's Borderlands 2 DLC teaser image was awkwardly pornographic. It was all we were provided, ok? 2K and Gearbox essentially forced us to put Sir Hammerlock, laid out with all his metal bits showing, right in the head image. Today, theye've been kind enough to provide us with some more feature-full assets. Err, not Hammerlock's featured assets. Nevermind. We've also got a release date for Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, which is January 15.
The third campaign DLC for Borderlands 2 will unlock the mysterious continent of Aegris, where the vault hunters, assumedly, will hunt down big game as Sir Hammerlock pleases. Inhabitants of the continent are unlikely to be particularly welcoming, however, but it woulnd't be Borderlands 2 if they were friendly, I figure. They worship Handsome Jack, they're probably cannibals, and they wear tribal masks, but they're probably just the same psychopaths we're used to.
Knowing Gearbox's tendency to know no boundaries with their absurd humor, it's a bit worrisome that they might get a tad incidentally racist in Big Game Hunt. I don't want to elaborate much, but if you look at some of the screenshots below you might catch my drift.
Borderlands 2's Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt campaign DLC is scheduled for release on January 15. It's a bit delayed in respect to the previous monthly DLC schedule, but considering the holiday break there's really nothing to be done. Look out for Borderlands 2 to be available in various sales over the holidays, and look forward to more DLCsoon.
