Treyarch preps for 'Christmas Noobs' with an in-game message to players, calls for better behavior
"We'd ask you to go easy on the Christmas noobs, but we know you won't"
The Call of Duty fanbase isn't known to be the most well mannered community out there in gaming, but in a recent in-game announcement by Treyarch they also seem to acknowledge just how overbearing (to put it diplomatically) their online community can be, especially toward new players.
The message opens with:
"It's that time of the year again where thousands of new players join the online ranks for the first time. We'd ask you to go easy on the Christmas Noobs, but we know you won't."
It tells the new players not to allow themselves to get bullied by the more veteran members of the community, and diligently informs them of the Boot Camp playlist which they insist is the"best place for a new player", allowing the newcomers to rank up against "both human and AI controlled opponents".
With the game released just over a month ago, a plethora of both new and old players joined the battlefield in arguably one of the most anticipated games of 2012 and in an rare instance for Treyarch, they seem to be appealing directly to players, which is a much welcomed change.

Had a 52-19, 68-25, 39-10 and 77-28 in consecutive games cos our party leader's SPM is something like 220 while mine is 390. Dead easy.
