LittleBigPlanet 2 Cross-Controller, Marvel Heroes DLC launching today

This seems familiar...
When the PlayStation Store updates today, you'll be able to purchase the new Cross-Controller Pack and Marvel Heroes Costume Packs for LittleBigPlanet 2.
The former item is particularly interesting, as it lets you use the PlayStation Vita as a controller when toying around with the new user creation tools. It also contains new levels for good measure.
The new goods are available download (but not purchase) now -- better get on it, as they're over 1GB in size. Included in the DLC is new, yet to be detailed content set to launch in the new year.

What does that mean? Does it mean that some new tools will be added to LBP2 and you can use the Vita as a controller?
