My callow jealousy of Europe and Japan will soon be sated as Capcom announced today, Mega Man's birthday, that Mega Man 1-6 will be arriving in the North American eShop for the 3DS. Starting December 27, the first Mega Man will be delivered, followed by Mega Man 2's release on February 7, with the other games in the series to follow. I can only assume that after each game has been released we'll discover we've been caught in Capcom's trap and our powers will be absorbed by Mega Man himself.
In the mean time, make sure you're checking out the newly launched Street Fighter X Mega Man game over at Capcom Unity. It's too early to tell if it's of a quality to be compared to the titles in the main franchise, but it should provide some delicious retro platforming action nevertheless.
Capcom Unity also released a sizable infographic detailing each game in the franchise's release, but honestly it might just make you depressed to see the past few years of ports. Legends, Star Force, and Battle Network might not even be real, they could have been dreams from long ago. Woe is me, where hath mine Mega Mans of yesteryear gone?
Quoth the Rush dog, "DLC, DLC."
