I knew I was prescient, because it was only earlier today when I guessed the next Borderlands 2 DLC would be announced "sometime soon." What do you know, it looks like the title of the DLC went and got leaked just after I finished that article. That's what I get for writing about Claptrap. According to some leaked PS3 trophy files the third campaign DLC will be titled Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. Gearbox better get their lawyers ready, because Cabela's Big Game Hunter won't let this stand.
The three PS3 trophy achievements that have been discovered are as follows (caution, minor spoilers):
- Face Off - Completed the mission: "The Fall of Nakayama" (Bronze trophy)
- Done that - Completed all Hammerlocks hunt side missions. (Gold trophy)
- Been there - Discovered all named locations in Hammerlocks Hunt. (Silver trophy)
I'm hoping, and yeah you've all heard me say it before, that in searching for big game Sir Hammerlock sends us to some really cool new locations. Perhaps, and this might be a pipe-dream, but perhaps Big Game Hunt will be a collection of smaller levels focused on short form boss battles. Sort of like a Borderlands 2 meets Monster Hunter experience. Ah, I'm just letting myself get carried away now.
Forgive the speculation, as surely Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt will be similar in size and scope to Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage and Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty. That means, three or four new zones and a quest-line that has you exploring the majority of the new maps. Not that I'm complaining. More Borderlands 2 is good for everyone.
Expect official details soon, and likely a release date sometime in the next couple of weeks.
