Ok. Third DLC, the game has been out for almost three months now..... How about that *bleep*ing level cap increase? The ONLY redeeming factor in the past two DLCs have been the humor and story. They have been short and given junk loot that isn't worth the effort to gather.

First DLC I could understand, too soon.
Second DLC I was kind of annoyed it wasn't in.
Third DLC, no excuse, I need to get something more than junk loot that completely lets me down as a reward for these missions. New levels! Come on!

As much as I'd like a level cap increase now, I sort of understand them waiting. Hopefully when they increase the level cap, they do it all in a short period of time.

It would suck for them to raise the cap by 5 one month, then 5 another month or two down the road. All those hard earned level 50 items will need to be hunted down again if you want them decent for the new level cap. This is probably their reason for delaying the level cap increase.

There's also a precedent of waiting a few months. The first game's level cap wasn't increased until about six months after release.

I hope they don't raise the level cap for a while. If they raise it too high, then people will be able to get all the useful skills and different builds, along with the decisions necessary to choose them, will be out the window. It's not as much fun when everyone playing a certain character plays the exact same way.

I completely understand your two points guys, but the fact is the majority of the player base for their game is sitting at level 50. Sure, it's nice to be maxed out and have maxed out gear, but that makes pretty much any new gear you find utterly useless, which completely defeats the purpose of the loot fest that is Borderlands. In the last DLC I pretty much stopped looking in chests and on the ground after fights for gear, because the fact was NONE of it was better than my current gear.

That should NEVER happen in a borderlands game. I should always WANT to open that next chest, want to search endlessly after each battle for something that might just be better than my current gear. The level cap increase would pretty much bring about that need and desire for myself to hunt down gear, either a better version of my current gear from past bosses, or new gear in the dlc.

Oh and Axe actually the first games level cap increase was in the third DLC, which happened to be announced 3 months after release, and released a month later, the likely scenario here. But I don't get your second point, how does the way SOMEONE ELSE plays effect your gameplay? It's like that bee nerf, I just don't understand someone getting upset or thinking that someone else who bought the game isn't allowed to play the game how they want, no matter how lame it may seem.

Shadow of Death Isn't that the exact spirit of Borderlands though? Hunting down loot? It seems vault hunters are getting lazy and complacent in their current level 50 set ups, times to shake things up. Time to hunt down old or new loot for that better set up.

I thought the first game's DLC3 wasn't released until March? Hmm... The wiki says it was released on February 23rd. My mistake.

Anyway.... the reason that I say how someone else affects the fun of it for other people is because this is a co-op game. I don't want to get into the Bee nerf, but I'll use it for an example. Say you're just rolling through an area, farming chests to see what you can get from them, when someone suddenly joins the game with a Bee and starts instantly killing everyone. There's a word for that: Boring.

With a big level cap increase, someone could probably get two end-of-tree skills and the third node of the final tree. Would it be as fun if everyone that plays Axton used double longbow nuke turrets, or if every Gaige had the same setup for Deathtrap? Variety is the spice of life. If you don't think that raising the level cap too high would make the game less fun to play with friends, then why not ask for them to go the full nine yards and raise the cap enough to allow everyone to max out every skill?

Axe you are forgetting one thing, there are privacy settings for a reason. Don't leave your game open if you don't want cookie cutter players jumping on in. I ALWAYS have my game set to friends only, and my friends no my feelings toward all the things that "ruin" a co-op game. It is a co-op game, but one that lets you filter out the riff-raff. I think the highest the level cap increase could go without throwing two end tree perks on is 55, 56 would give the ability to have two. I was, and honestly still am expecting a 5 level increase. You seem to think that EVERYONE is just instantly going to go on youtube and look up the "Uber build/best build" I tend to give people more credit. I personally experimented(much like 90% of my friends) with builds enough to find one we liked. I started with straight up nuke turret, then eventually worked through about 4 more builds till I landed on my current sticky, rocket shooting, bubble shielded, two at a time turrets. All of your problems with the reason the level cap SHOULDN'T be increased can be solved with a simple "Don't play with that vanilla I'm gonna be like everyone else Douche."

Fact is the game has been out long enough for everyone to discover their style of play, and the first one was hit with it's level cap increase around this same time frame, did it break the game? Nope. Was there the potential for it to break the game, Yeah, but they handled it well. Sure, there are more skill trees and more powerful skills this time around, but isn't that what borderlands is? Hell, I WANT to walk around as an unstoppable bad ass at this point, I think 3 months and 2 DLC's worth of time invested in a game is enough to warrant a decent reward.

Also, side note that has nothing really to do with anything, but my axton would have two double gun rocket turrets with bubble shields, That nuke is useless compared to two turrets that are throwing around rockets.

I could not agree with Oni_Hero more. I mean the achievement for hitting level 50 all but confirms there will be a cap increase. And like I said at another site, anyone who's going to be buying these DLCs has more than likely capped on their second playthrough of the core game. We were given a level cap increase in DLC 3 of the original, why not put it in this one as well? Or if not, stop making over half the missions give nothing but XP and Money?
I haven't even begun the Campaign of Carnage for the fact that my lvl 49-50 E-Tech weapons tear everything apart as it is, so there's no need to hunt for anything else, thanks to the already superior weaponry. In a game where looting and hunting for that one amazing weapon or piece of gear is the primary fun factor, not having the desire to do so because your current set-up is already more powerful than most anything you'll get doesn't seem like a good thing to me.
Again like Oni said, most of us already have our builds planned out. I already know what each of my characters are going to get when the level cap increases, so I doubt everyone's going to be running around with the same OP/Imba class, but hopefully more with the ones that suit their playstyle.

Oni_hero, 5 is the number of levels I would say the cap should be increased too. I'm not sure whether allowing an end-tree skill would be such a bad thing, but give people enough rope and they'll hang themselves. After the modded items from the first games, I don't have any expectations for random online schmucks.

And for the record, I play on friends only as well exactly for that reason.

I completely agree with that Axe. 5 levels is completely enough for me, it is actually what I expect. Yeah, I only play with friends too.

They are going all out on the dlc, and I would probably expect to see something after new years, as long as they still have huge environments and the same old humor I will be a satisfied customer.
