By no means do I hate the current box art, but I do agree with the crowd on it being typical. It needs to have a cover that's not trying to sell the game as "just a shooter," which is the first thing I think of when I look at it. If I had no idea about this game or the Bioshock franchise, and I was looking at games on a shelf, I would pass right over it. It just looks so generic.

Anyways, I voted for number six.

I'm not sure what your "need" is based on, but from the point of view of the people who developed it, it needs to sell as many copies as it can, because it needs to provide a good return on investment. If that means generic cover, all power to them.
CoD 4 had a super generic cover - random soldier shooting a gun. And it sold many times that of Bioshock 1. There are people who want generic covers. A random shot of a floating city isn't going to grab them. Maybe you don't, but you're not who it's targeting - you're already going to buy the game.

So games are all about sales are they?

Games about about good games, especially with something like Infinite. But if you can make a great game, then do something as simple as changing the picture on the box to reach a whole new audience and make more money, you may as well.
And when it comes right down to it, games are about making money. If Infinite wasn't going to make money it wouldn't exist They aren't a charity.
