Gamespy servers for older games shutting down

Sad times
Recent owner of middleware Gamespy Glu has begun shutting down Gamespy servers for some older titles, including Neverwinter Nights and its sequel, SWAT 4, Sniper Elite, and Star Wars: Battlefront, among others.
If you do still play some older titles which use Gamespy, this means multiplayer will no longer be viable, at least by default.
Some have pointed out services like GameRanger can make it possible to keep playing these older games online, but it's definitely a blow either way.

This is why they should make old Star Wars Battlefront II cd keys work with Steam. Sad...

If there is a big enough fan community, then like alot of the older services, servers will be hosted by fans.
