Umm counting this, six re relases (PSX, GBA, DS, PSP,Wiiware, iOS) however the PSP re relase has the sequel to FF IV, the after years, compared to VII that one has been milked way more, we got FF VII on PSP, VITA, PS3, with have DoC, AOC, three animes, a couple of mobile games, and two ultimania guides.
Like I said, FFIV was milked about as much as FFVII. The fact is, they were both milked to hell. That's the point.

Also, I meant to say that FFIV has one sequel, not spin-off, but same difference.

Dual Wielding freelancers are all nice but quickly become outclased by better things like dual summoners mimes that can spam bahamut while being safe behind shell+protect+float and be on haste.
Not sure what all that has to do with anything, but okay.

I'll give you that much, i still feel shadows story could've been expander a bit more.
..Okay?

How are they completeley irrelevant?

They're completely irrelevant because I was not talking about remaking them, otherwise I would have mentioned them. Talking about remaking FFVII-IX is a different argument altogether.

Ugh.. aren't people tired of Final Fantasy IV by now? I know I am. Why don't they get to remaking V and VI already?

Kefka who is the long lost twin brother of the joker or his reincarnation or expy or w/e,.
FFVI still left me with the biggest "wtf, how the hell this happen?" in the middle of the game of all rpgs I've played, well 2 others have the end hehe.
I'd sooner expect people on my team then keftka being the final boss and it still didn't sink in till five more hours gameplay later on what haapened lol.
Some major love for FFVI.
Honestly hoping for a re-anything of this game

I agree that IV has a decent story, but in my personal experience, it's not very fun. V brings back the class system from (Japanese) 3 and expands it, making one's experience unique with every playthrough. The story is pretty generic, but having a White Mage that can fight well without weapons, or a Magic Knight that can dual wield is pretty *bleep*ing awesome.

Then there's VI. Of course, with so many characters, there's not going to be a lot of room for character development. But that doesn't take away from the story, and how fun the game is in any way. Unlike V, VI has a wide cast of characters with a wide variety of personalities and styles, and most of them get their own chance in the spotlight. Not to mention, the sprite animations, the sprites, the music, it was clear that it was Square's last hurrah on the SNES, so they upped the quality big time. It's also one of the only stories in the series that isn't so convoluted you have to litter it with fan theories to make any sense of it.

IV has cecil, FuSoYa, Golblez, Rydia, a cast that later games has difficult matching, FF VI has a good cast but the sand boxeness of the VI do not give a lot of character development, overall with locke, Edgar, Sabin and Shadow, we get Character Development for uh Kefka, Celes, Setzer and Terra, and she is the one who got most of it along kefka....

V is funny, has a bit of a ligthearted atmosphere until you wind up with some dark events, and then the whole third world thing kicks any "fun" out of the script.

IV does it's best with the script, all characters in the end get their own share of line and development, which is nice.

VII, despite having given the most requests to be remade still suffers from poor character development and has to rely on shaky prequel and sequel and side materials to compensate what the couldnt do.

VIII is where Character development went sligthly better, but again unlike IV it did what V, VI and VII pick a small number of characters and develop them throw the rest away as background cast, out of the cast only squall, rinoa, irvine, Laguna, Kiros and Ward got character development for real, outside that the rest of the playable cast is a mistery.

IX has some of the best Character development so far, outside of the Quina and Amarant everybody else has a fair share of time including Beatrix and the Queen and Kujam, the steampunk society of FFIX is by far the most developed and most intresting, rinoa is genuine, Zidane is too, Steiner is dedicated to his duty and we know why because outside he feeling he shold be the best knight he feels true loyalty towards the princess, eiko gets her turn too, Freya actually makes you care about her lover, Kuja is an amazing villian, unlike Ex-death who is only after the void, or Kefka who is the long lost twin brother of the joker or his reincarnation or expy or w/e, Kuja starts enigmatic, he is always trying to fill the void Garland left in him, and he slowly goes onto a spiral of madness that winds up as your typical i wanna kill 'em all villian.

IV does it's best with the script, all characters in the end get their own share of line and development, which is nice.
