Wintersday comes to Guild Wars 2, a trailer and a poem from ArenaNet to you
Giant floating golem full of asura and presents? Yes, please
ArenaNet teased us a little bit with some random screenshots showing off Wintersday in Guild Wars 2, but it's not the same as seeing the holiday in motion. Today they gave in and posted a full Wintersday trailer, narrated by what must be an asuran reciting a holiday poem. It probably doesn't help that asurans are quite a bit terrifying and adding in a giant hovering golem-ship full of presents doesn't help at all. I am as excited as I am fearful for Winstersday this year in Guild Wars 2.
The new trailer shows off a ton of exciting new content for the holiday, including new (and likely premium) winter coat costumes, a new Lion's Arch snow globe statue where the Mad King had erupted out of the ground, and what looks like an epic jumping puzzle. Seriously, I think I saw a billion little platforms with two giant snowmen looming in the distance. Hopefully the Clock Tower from the Halloween event was just a sampling of what ArenaNet can do with jumping puzzles.
Wintersday begins on December 14 and runs through January 3. Look for the giant floating golem-ship and quaggans throwing snowballs soon! Guild Wars 2 delivering another epic content update, no subscription needed.

By the looks of it, starting on day 1 (14th) there is:
- The jump puzzle from the video
- Snowball fight PvP
- "Bell Choir", something about music and rhythm.
Toymaker hits the following cities on the following days:Dec 15 - Grove
16 - Divinity
17 - Black Citadel
18 - Hoelbrak
19 - Rata Sum
20 - LA (this lasts until the 3rd of January)
While the toymaker is in LA, there looks to be some challenge...event...thing, where the toys in the workshop are trying to destroy a giant machine within the workshop, and players are tasked with defending it. Dungeon, event, dunno. Anet describes it as events, so it could be more than one thing.
Looks really nice , guess we get to visit the toy lab(land?) this Christmas.
