Nintendo brings Pokédex to life with iOS app, covers Unova region and rest costs extra
A little on the pricey side
Who honestly never thought about bringing more if Pokémon into the real world? Well, Nintendo is moving one step closer to that with a Pokédex app, for iOS platforms. Appropriately, it's titled Pokédex for iOS.
The Pokédex's database currently contains over 640 of these monsters, ranging from cute to downright "what the hell were they thinking." If you were hoping for a free download, we're sorry to inform you that the app does cost $2 to grab. Well, $1.99 USD to be exact, if that's any better.
The app will grant "immediate access" (As opposed to delayed?) to the Unova Pokédex data, covering entries 494 through 647. The way the app works is you can browse and bring up a Pokémon, then check out all its stats and other information. The display lets users rotate the creature a full 360 degrees, so that might be kind of fun to mess around for a few minutes. Of course, every entry also shows where the Pokémon can be captured in-game.
If you're wondering about the other regions, those will need to be purchased separately for a higher price. The entire Pokédex needs to be assembled region by region, with the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh Pokédex regional data costing another $5.99 USD each. Ouch.

You'd be surprised the amount of people who picked up the 3DS version for £15.
I know it's cheaper but doesn't have all the bells and whistles this one does and it doesn't make it less insane.
I''m glad Nintendo is actually considering other platforms, maybe they've actually realized that the 3DS isn't doing so well for them profit-wise compared to what Apple is getting. Good job!
Sadly there are people with more money than sense but I suppose this would be good for kids too young to actively use Google or one of the dedicated sites. But then again if they have a 3DS why not just buy the 3D pro?
~~~Edit~~~
Last three now!
Shiny pictures and all
