I'm surprised Persona 4 Arena won, let alone nominated, for best fighter. I always thought the series was fairly obscure in the west. Happy to know I was wrong.

Kinda upset Dawnguard won Best DLC.
I don't think the fact that only PC and 360 players owned it was put into consideration.

Definitely. The awards are bullshit, the celebrity hosts/presenters are bullshit, the music is bullshit, the only reason anyone watches that is for the game premiers and exclusive trailers.

I enjoyed the Video Game music this year nnnddd101010. I had the opportunity to go to Video Games Live(another orchestra that does this) and it was awesome.

Yo dude, you call walking dead indie? Don't bother typing two paragraphs of shit when you fail on what's supposed to be your point. The game has more production resources than the show. You know what indie means? You're actually retarded and ME3 puts this zombie shit to shame...period

The end results very well should matter. Letting one character die has no meaning for these "experiences" when a second character, the other option serves an identical purpose or when the character ultimately dies anyway moments later. The experience barely changes.
I think some people expected too much from this game tbh. Like it would be similar to Heavy Rain and have about fifteen different endings depending on your choices throughout the game. I understand one of the main gripes about the game was the fact that when you chose to save one character over the other in the first episode they both ended up dying at the same place in the story by the same person. I understand why that would bother some people but I thought that it provided a sense of helplessness when playing the game. You are in the ZA and no matter if you save someone first time around, people are going to die at some point. No-one's really safe. See the main character at the end for evidence of that.

I have put an example in the spoiler tag of a character who dies no matter the choices you make but the different ways in which his death occurs incur different emotions for the player.

Obviously for anyone reading this, the spoiler below is about a character death so be wary if reading and you are yet to play the game.

The hell, are people really complaining about The Walking Dead winning? Really? All I can say is they simply didn't play the game. It was easily the best written, most engaging game of the last few years and easily the most this year where engaging stories were few and far between (only this one and Spec Ops on my account). Especially with Mass Effect 3's writing and grossly unfulfilled promises this year disappointing the hell out of me (that game even had to deliver on half of what it offered and it would easily be my game of the year consider that Mass Effect is my favourite franchise ever, but sadly it didn't deliver on anything), it only made Walking Dead's fantastic diverge decision making stand out even more.

If you think its 'a stupid zombie game' then you obviously don't have the first clue what The Walking Dead is about. It thoroughly deserves its victory in my opinion. As far as I'm concerned The Walking Dead game (and arguably Red Dead's Undead Nightmare) are the only games to ever do Zombie's properly, and make the zombies more than fleshy roadblocks that just impede progress through the game.

MetallicaDragon This isn't a fan voted show, the only two that are fan voted are character of the year (Claptrap) and most anticipated game (GTA5). Whilst you're totally free to disagree with the choice and argue why, don't go around falsely accusing claiming it was voted the best 'just because the show is popular' when its not even a public vote.

Aussie Legend Yes you can vote on who you want to win. Did you not see the voting page spike TV has up every year?

MetallicaDragon Yes you can vote on who 'you' want to win, and they have results on their website for who won each category in their own poll, but that has nothing to do with the award winners on the actual show.

The actual awards (the ones given out on the show) are decided by panel of 25 editors and chiefs from gaming outlets like Kotaku, Gametrailers, Penny Arcade, and (sadly) USA today. Not fan voted.
