In case you missed the 2012 Spike Video Game Awards here are the award winners
Big winners The Walking Dead, Journey and Borderlands 2
In case you didn't want to read through our Spike VGAs semi-live-blog from last night (and who can blame you, I've been told it reads like a man slowly going insane) we've put together a list of the event's winners. Actually, now that I think about it the live-blog only really has maybe a quarter of the awards anyways, since they don't broadcast a majority of them. Oh well, we should know better by now.
For those who missed out on the live broadcast the night's biggest winner was... *drumroll* ... The Walking Dead! The Telltale adventure game walked away with the Game of the Year award, along with Best Adapted Game and Best Downloadable title. Add in awards for best female performance for Clementine's VA Melissa Hutchison and Best Studio for Tellale Games, and The Walking Dead is the runaway winner of the show.
Other strong performers include indie title Journey, who won awards for Best Indie Title and Best Original Score, and Borderlands 2 for Best Shooter, Best Multiplayer and Best Performance from a Human Male for Handsome Jack's VA Dameon Clarke.

There you have it, all of the award from the 2012 Spike Video Game Awards. Typically there's plenty of ridiculousness and nonsensical logic going on, but they kept it pretty minimal this year. Still, you have to ask how Borderlands 2 won Best Shooter over Halo 4 and then in Best Xbox 360 they swapped.
Hey, they announced Dark Souls 2 and Metal Gear Solid V last night! How about that? Hooray, no more VGAs until next year.

seems legit.
It's also pretty stupid that sound shapes beat gravity rush, but hey, I don't work for spike
Sure thing dude.
And I don't give a *bleep* about this game or the show.
Gaben is one of the most well known, and popular faces in the industry. This girl has no idea what she's talking about, probably only owns a Wii, and Wii Fit then calls herself a gamer.
She apologized on Twitter;
that's not actually Gabe Newell; some unverified random person.
Can't wait to play the game tbh. Computer can't run it so I'm waiting for them to package all episodes and sell them on Xbox. Love good stories.
don't understand the hate for a show you haven't seen or a game you haven played though....
I'm really glad the Walking Dead won. A story driven indie game taking home goty honors in the biggest award show for the industry is huge and hopefully puts the onus on AAA devs to actually try to diverge from their copy paste mentality that has made them millions. Mass Effect was disappointing and AC has always been boring to me. Three original IPs in a five nominee category? I'd say that's progress, and anybody who wanted "Generic grey-and-brown-pallette shooter 2012" to win should be ashamed to call themselves a gamer.
