VGA debut The Phantom Pain is Kojima's Project Ogre AKA Metal Gear Solid 5 and multiplatform as well
Kojima is the best troll in gaming
What started out as a confusing debut for what many people thought was a new survival horror game has turned into perhaps the best troll ever by Hideo Kojima. The Phantom Pain, as it was teased during the Spike VGAs, is almost certainly Kojima's pet project over the past few years, Project Ogre. The clues to that are pretty clear. Further, and perhaps unreasonable, evidence leads to something bigger -- that The Phantom Pain is actually Metal Gear Solid V (and it's multiplayform too).
Let's start down the rabbit hole! All we know from the Phantom Pain trailer is that it's being developed by a new studio named Moby Dick Studio. If you go to this studio's website and browse their "About Us" page you'll find the following:
"Moby Dick Studio is a game developing company operating out of Stockholm, Sweden. Moby Dick Studio was founded by CEO Joakim Mogren who after years of working for a major American developer brought together people out of various game studios from around the Scandinavian area to start something new."
Okay, check out the CEO's name one or five more times. Yes, Joakim is an anagram for Kojima. Yes, Mogren has the word "Ogre" right in the middle of it. It's so painfully obvious we've been trolled by this point that it's hard not to laugh. Think back to the trailer and how the protagonist looks just like Snake, how we never see his face, and how his bandages are placed upon his head just like a bandanna might sit.
Other details can be speculated upon, like the soldiers that all look so similar they might just be clones, or one of the enemies near the end floating like he might just be Psycho Mantis. By this point, it's almost so silly that it's hard not to say that whatever seems too stupid to be true is probably true. Which brings us to our final clue.

Click on it, zoom in, give it a nice thorough analysis. Then sit down and think how masterfully trolled we've been. Damn, Kojima, you are a god among men.
A couple of extra details. Recall that Kojima has said that Ground Zeroes is not Project Ogre, so this is a different project than that. Nonetheless, the flaming man in the trailer looks a lot like the scarred Volgin. Also, and perhaps the biggest new of all, is that the Moby Dick Studio has both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 logos on its front page. Metal Gear Solid V is going multiplatform and it's a for current generation systems.
Keep in mind this could all be the worst rumor ever, but considering Kojima's past (Metal Gear Solid 2, anyone?) and the secrecy surrounding Project Ogre (remember him showing Cliff Bleszinski something behind closed doors a few months back) and just how painfully obvious these clues are... come on. It's Metal Gear Solid V.

WOW
Phantom Pain is the feeling of pain an individual gets in a limb that is no longer there i.e.
the amputated arm. The character was too young and amputated. Boss and Solid Snake had both their arms. Liquid lost his arm. That arm is attached to Ocelot who was the villain in mgs4.
Ocelot took Liquid's right arm. This guy obviously is missing his left... The speculation continues...
Many good games to look forward to from this awesome man.
Or maybe hes just trolling because he know us fans will be snooping around and speculating, it would be pretty funny if Project Ogre has nothing to do with Metal Gear but the characters look alike.
