Independent Games Festival teams up with Valve to offer 2013 finalists Steam distribution agreements

The folks behind the Independent Games Festival (IGF) announced today their partnership with renowned developer Valve for IGS 2013. In a rather sweet deal, next year's Main Competition finalists will have the opportunity to accept a Steam distribution agreement. Talk about a pretty great opportunity.
The offer will extend to all finalists, not just IGF winners. This covers one nominee from each of the jury-voted categories: Seumas McNally Grand Prize, Excellence In Design, Excellence In Art, Excellence In Narrative, Technical Excellence, Excellence in Audio, and the Nuovo Award.
Over 200 judges will be tasked with picking the cream of the crop. Finalists are expected to be announced in January, then winners at the 2013 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March.
