Blue Neon Wish we were. Here's hoping it's just a timed thing. We've reached out for confirmation.

I thought that exact same thing. Homage or rip-off?

RabidChinaGirl I always find it funny/ridiculous/stupid four person teams have to be three dudes and a chick. Is there an unwritten rule by marketing gurus that every developer uses?

Marginally related.

Despite having bought the PS3 edition, I really think this is a bad idea on their part, unless Ubisoft plans to release an exclusive Co Op pack for each system it's on. That might be interesting.

Ubisoft is getting larger and larger. At the same time some of their actions are getting less and less self-explanitory.
I remember liking them when it was just the original rayman (platforming masterpiece) and tomb raider (exploring, tiger shootan, shirt ballonan masterpiece). Since then Ubisoft has been more or less picking the right developers and pushing them in the right direction. Ever since they decided to touch assasins creed beyond the first game, blowing up tom clancy, and letting rabbids exist they have become a very questionable developer in my eyes. The chaotic neutral so to speak. That doesnt stop them from being the HUGE publisher that they are today. I mean, just look at the sales figures for Far Cry 3, AC3, and Just Dance 4. Just astronomical. Still, they have made me raise an eyebrow more than once over the past week or so.
If you are going to bother developing a game for 3 consoles, you might as well release dlc for them all as well. More money right? I mean seriously, I have my money pinned that a majority portion of the FC3 community is rooted on the xbox. Maybe this is a sign that the ps3 has a lot still going for it? After all, Sony is most likely going to be the 'third child' of the next generation, so to speak. With the wii u out and some vague details regarding microsoft splitting the new xbox, the current iteration of the playstation has a lot more time to kill before it is phased out. Perhaps this randomly exclusive dlc, along with a strong 2012-2013 exclusives list is any indication.

Ubisoft got back to us about exclusivity. It's definitely exclusive (not timed). Article updated to reflect this.

Console specific DLC is just messed up, not only do others miss the content but the company as a whole misses that opportunity to get the extra money out of it. I'm ok with timed dlc but not holding out from giving it to everyone.

Did you do that on purpose?

I'm wondering if the money Sony pays Ubisoft to make it an exclusive, pays more than what they would get if Xbox and PC got the dlc. Wouldn't they get more profit?
