Is your Dovahkiin level 81 or higher in Skyrim? If so, then congratulations, you meet the minimum requirement for facing the Ebony Warrior.
This guy is a new addition to Elder Scrolls V, and he came with the newly released Dragonborn DLC (currently only available on Xbox 360). For console gamers, this could very well be our first shot at a real fight, as in ripping your hair out while drinking all your potions and desperately trying not to get shouted out. What's the big deal, you wonder? Apparently, the Ebony Warrior has a shout that can paralyze for up to 15 seconds, carries an Ebony Shield resistant to fire, wears Ebony quality armor with health regen, carries an Ebony Sword of Vampirism that steals 15 HP per hit, and can heal himself through magic.
Player accounts are popping up at the official Bethesda forums, with members remarking how hard the fight was for them. One member notes:
Ebony Warrior was very challenging for me. Took me at least three tries throwing everything I had at him, too. Kudos for Bethesda for putting this in for level-capped people.
Since this guy is a level 81 boss, you won't run into him unless you're at the same level or higher. For some of us, that might take quite a bit of time, but if you're curious what Skyrim offers as a reward, another player reveals:
Like everything else in Skyrim, you can smith better. As for reward; knowing you just defeated the toughest enemy we've faced thus far in Skyrim is your proper reward.
Took me 4 attempts. He's like 15 legendary dragons in one.
I'm sure there are PC gamers out there scoffing right now, because they've already faced down 15 dragons or more (simultaneously). For those of us on console, yeah, this is going to be interesting.
If anyone manages to capture or find some actual footage/images of this bad boy, drop us a line.
