On Monday, we heard about a Grand Theft Auto V petition aimed at getting Rockstar to release the game for PC. Well, when we first reported the story, the petition had just over 40,000 signatures. Now, about five days later, that number has skyrocketed over 110,000 -- a few short of 111,000, in fact.
While Rockstar will likely be bringing the game to PC sooner or later, with or without any petitions, the petition's growth is certainly something to behold. That said, most of the folks signing it would prefer seeing the PC version properly developed now rather than poorly ported later.
This particular "reason for signing" was especially endearing:
"Because I'm mostly a PC gamer and having it on PC would be so awesome! GTA has been one of the best games since I was a kid- er, umm... since I was 17 and able to play Mature rated games. Great memories on all of them.”
Whatever happens, this entire movement is still fascinating to watch. And no one can ever claim the PC gamers didn't try.
Grand Theft Auto V will be out next spring for PS3 and Xbox 360.
