Squenix changes mind on Hitman: Absolution online pass, Contracts mode free to all

Square Enix has changed its mind about including an online pass with stealth game Hitman: Absolution. As such, the "Contracts" mode -- described as user-made "reverse murder mysteries" -- will be available to all at no extra charge.
The company isn't too specific as to why they shifted gears on the matter, except to say they "really want to make it available to anybody that plays the game" -- perhaps this can be taken to mean they want even those that buy used copies to participate in the mystery making and bolster the community long-term.
North Americans will see the mode available in-game with no confusion; if you're in Europe, you'll still see a code for it in your game box, but this can be ignored in favor of a download through the in-game shop.

Online passes really do my head in, so I really appreciate that they've knocked it on the head. Not that it'll matter to me anyway since I'm getting a new copy.

Good idea, I really think the whole online pass concept was getting old and they are only punishing people who buy the game used, ontop of the fact that there is DLC out there that you need to purchase too.
