Then I have to question your teacher. It's the sudents job to validate the authenticity of a sites information. At the very least you can easily look this information up on google.

Bo2 released on WiiU. And that would mean H4 DESTROYED BO2 on xbox.
quote Animatrix
If you divided the sales money for CoD: BO2 into four[Wii/PS3/Xbox/PC] sections, each platform would have sold 125M a piece, which means Halo won in the Xbox section[220M] and probably will win in the PC section when/if that gets released too.
These are two just awful pieces of logic:
1. the Wii-U was only released in the US (ONLY) 2 days ago, so that doesn't work for LAUNCH DAY sales of Black Ops 2 does it?

2. You can't take total sales and divide it by 3 (or 4 as you've tried to pass it off) and just say that is average per console. PC COD sales is a fraction of Xbox/PS3 sales because COD on the PC is nowhere near console size. Just look at sales of previous CODs for proof

So if you really insist on your incredibly pointless idea of taking a 'mean' sales, subtract maybe 10% of sales from the total (to allow for PC gaming) and then divide that number by 2 (1 for PS3, 1 fox Xbox, even though Xbox probably sold more)
I'll let you do the Maths (but it is greater than than Halo sales if you can't work it out)

btw I don't really care, just couldn't let those two terrible points go

quote Animatrix
But you can't compare COD's sales to Halo sales because Halo is exclusively sold on Xbox[Microsoft] while COD can sell on Xbox plus three other platforms...

Only sensible thing you said
Okay, forgot that this was launch day statistics. But, I believe, if Halo released on the same amount of consoles BO2 released on then it would have won. Let me make one thing clear, I am a Halo fanboy, but I also enjoy CoD.

Really? Double Halo 4? BO2 released on 4 consoles whil Halo4 released on 1. What was the sales on 360 only?

Halo will never be released on PC again. It's essentially supposed to be that "zomg 360 exclusive" like Gears of War that Microsoft have *bleep*ed with to the point where it pisses off people. I'd love Halo to be on PC again, since that's where it SHOULD be. PC control schemes are x50 better for shooters than a controller. You can do more and actually adjust it to how YOU want to play.

Not to mention CoD is too fluid on PC. It is essentially the most competitive shooter on PC along with Counterstrike and Team Fortress 2. The amount of people playing CoD4 on PC is more than the people playing the popular Blizzard title; Diablo 3.

But, saying that each console sold the same amounts is ignorant. Obviously the 360 sold the majority of it's numbers, PS3 in second, and PC in third. It's like 50%, 30%, 20% in a sense.

don't know how you check the most played game on Xbox live (no xbox) but I imagine COD will be top
1Minecraft
2Halo 4
3CoD:BO2

But you completely avoided my point, Halo sells on one console, COD sells on four.

So let me explain this a little bit easier... Launch day comes, Halo is a spaceship with one booster on it, COD is a spaceship with three boosters on it.. Halo almost made it half of the distance COD did but COD has three boosters... What if Halo had just one more booster[PS3]..? or let's make it fair and give Halo three boosters too.

Halo would have possibly been right up there with COD on sales.[obviously this is my speculation]

And so, my point for bringing this up is not to have an opinion war over which game is better than the other, it was to state that comparing COD sales to Halo sales is irrelevant, and can not and will not be fair.[unless COD uses only Xbox sales]

Here we go again....
(I'm just going to put all counter points in bold as opposed to doing 10 different quote boxes)

quote Animatrix
Lmao.

Think of this. COD sells across THREE platforms. Halo sold across only ONE.
COD made 500m[first 24 hours]. Halo made 230m[first 24 hours] nearly HALF of the sales COD made with a completely unfair advantage.. THREE vs ONE...
and as I said, take 10% off COD sales for PC Gaming (50million) leaving 450mil, divide by 2 (1 for ps3, 1 for xbox) and that gives 225mil - a whopping 5mil more sales for H4...even though COD on Xbox will be a much higher seller than on PS3 as it always is...so dividing by 2 is hardly a fair comparison

Halo definitely won in Xbox division :]
again, disagree (see above) - don't know how you check the most played game on Xbox live (no xbox) but I imagine COD will be top

Imagine if it sold across THREE platforms hahah.
Halo 4 would have completely won by a landslide (speculation).. I mean if Halo: Reach[and all other halos in the past] were released on PS3 and Wii, imagine the 150m each that Halo would have raked in for those platforms alone
no way wii would sell a 150m each, so to suggest so is unrealistic - it's a different type of market that wouldn't buy Halo, much like they dont buy COD... yes it is speculation, but the facts are still pretty god damn obvious. best sentence ever....how can speculation be facts? That is the complete opposite of a fact, it is an opinion

I love COD, I've played COD before it "trended" over to the consoles,[that's right, COD was on PC before it ever came to consoles] and I love Halo. I just happen to love Halo a little bit better. For reasons that no COD fan will ever understand until they play a better game, like BF3 or H4 :]
I played the original COD on the Gamecube & COD2 on PC (so don't take the moral f*****g highground on me). I have played both BF3 and Halo, although admittedly not H4. I played H1, H2 and H3 on Bro's Xbox before it got stale so again, no. Whilst I don't own BF3, I had BC2 on PC and played a lot of BF3 at a friends house and just don't like it's massive maps - I'll take arcade-style COD anyday. So I guess I'll just say I "love" (platonic love I suppose) COD a lot more than Halo & BF even though I've played all 3 titles
Oh and btw - Black Ops 2 opening 24hour sales totalled $613million, not just $500 & H4 made $220 so factor that into your little equation. (imagine you said $230 because that is conveniently higher than the $225 I calculated using my, admittedly flawed, formula)
That reply came across more aggressive than I intended so apologies for that, but still, the point remains

>Halo better than CoD

Nah, they're both mediocre shooters. They just have certain adjusted levels of enjoyment that appeal to two demographics.

Can't really touch some of the pristine shooter series like Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, Doom, and Quake. Hell, even Team Fortress 2. Unfortunately for those series, they're being consistently out-shadowed by the ever so increasing popularity of a few series titles, and also a cause and effect of less and less people using the PC as a gaming platform. Halo stopped being good after Halo 2 when they took away an entire demographic of players with Halo 3, and CoD stopped being good after it became the same game each year.

Don't preach higher position when the game you play is guilty of the same shit that most of the popular shooter titles are guilty of. Over saturation that it's a popular shooter and rides on it.

>inb4 someone says I'm a cod fanboy
Yeah, I like the games but I also like some Halo games. I like a lot of shooters and I don't limit myself to one or two series. I play a lot of them so I can have a wider, more diverse opinion on the genre.

if you want my honest opinion, the best shooter I've ever played is Red Orchestra 2. Controls are easy to grasp, community isn't filled with a bunch of degenerate rats, visual are appealing, and the game focuses on team work more than ever. I would have babies with this game. <3333

^ Thank you.

I was well aware it released on Wii U, but as stated above, that wasn't at launch. Good try, though.

Black Ops 2 didn't release on Wii, first of all. Secondly, the game DESTROYED Halo 4...it made well more than double the money Halo did, on three platforms. Last I checked, making over 200 mil on three platforms (it actually made over 600 mil, hence my math) is much more impressive than Halo doing the sales it did on just one console...
