i remember mentioning something along those lines before in a post, and its totally true, gta 4 is the equivalant of what we got when gta 3 was released and the ps2 was still new and the hardware was not fully capable yet of running what we got in san andreas, so if you look at gta 4 being the equivalant of gta 3, then we can at least safely say that perhaps gta 5 will be something like what we got with vice city on the ps2, after knowing what the ps3 is capable off along with the 360, i believe rockstar can now bring more stuff to the table and we will get a much better game

If they can bring us a "much better game" than GTA IV, then we'll have a clear winner for this DECADE of gaming.

The PS2 hardware was the same in 2004 as it was in 2001.

I like that they described the hardware as "mature" instead of "old".

HilaryDuffGta Master It's not the hardware actually changed from GTA3 to GTA:SA, it's that Rockstar was able to get more out of that hardware, because they don't have to start from scratch.

I get what he was saying, and he's right for the most part and it's a good analogy. IV -> V should be as big a leap (in quality at least) as III -> SA.

No, no. The expansion packs are comparable to Vice City. New content, new weapons and features, soon after the first game for the cycle.
V is taking on San Andreas, releasing at the peak of the hardware cycle, packed to the brim with both features and sheer size.

I've been saying this for a while - that IV suffered because creating the first game for the platform takes a lot more effort. Now they've said it But that's why IV lacked all the features and "fun" that people won't stop harping on about. With V they've got a chance flesh it out more.

i hope we get the "Fun" stuff in V, it lacked in 4 to the point that i just went over to saints row after i got to the end of gta 4 in about a week, and there was nothing left to do

Yes we've all heard that story before Then you swore you weren't going to buy V and complained about IV to anyone who would listen and then you saw the first two V trailers...

And here you are, on the forum for V.

Saints row and gta aren't really comparable.. The GTA experience is untouched by any saints row game. GTA has a more mature artistic feel to it and even the satire can be deep. Saints row is like a big mac, coca cola.. GTA is Fine wine, Fine dining. I cant play saints row game it just doesent seem to have the same class. Cant wait for spring, it's a cold winter away

Now is good.

Nah, as i had said in other posts now that we have a general release time and some effing information i am feeling much more relaxed and positive about the game. And the trailer.... awww mama mia. It actually doesnt feel all that long now especially once christmas is out of the way. Bring it on R*.

I think that article is right in that GTAV is going to share much in common with GTA:SA's release timing.

GTA:SA was without a doubt one of the greatest games ever created and it was a fantastic send off for the PS2. It just bred such a strong finish for that generation of consoles and set the bar high for a leap into the next gen. I think gaming in general has a lot to thank the GTA series and R* for. Even though they are WANKERS! sometimes.

S:A was a great send off for the last gen and GTAV should make a fitting tribute to the 360/PS3 era IMO.
