It annoys me that they seem to break this record every year. I wonder how many people buy this game just because their friends are getting it.

Core gaming is always at risk, and big budget titles are at most risk. I don't understand why we should do anything but celebrate successful core titles.

Because it's the same thing over and over. Even the Final Fantasy series aspires to be unique and different within each installment- something they successfully manage to do each release. There have been five or so Call of Duty games and they do nothing relatively new compared to the last one.

Personally, whatever Respawn Entertainment is going to be developing is going to be better than this rehashing.

I actually commend the marketers for the goldmine they've done for themselves. this is nothing but a simple (but drawn-out) vicious cycle.

Indeed it's as it sounds... it breaks records every year because it's the same shit. the thing here is, people play this game so god damn much... that by winter time, gamers will have explored every parcel of every corner of the current game, starting to bash it on what needs to be fixed/nerfed/buffed. no matter how well it's done, gamers will always want more, they'll want certain types of players to stop playing like this, certain guns to not be used as much, maps to be exiled off the choices, more maps, less OP guns, etc

the monthly patches, they're like little candy you throw to a baby to delay the crying for slightly longer.

then they bring in the hype for the next CoD title, around spring time. people at that point get maaaad excited because "HERE ARE THE 350 PROBLEMS ABOUT THE CURRENT INSTALLMENT *lists*". So as usual, trailers, photos, new features leak, people welcome them, they actually improve on most of the shit, game release date comes out, pre-orders skyrocket, hype, hype, hype, midnight release and boom. 3 months later "here are the 40 problems about this title, I shotgun moan thread suckas"

How long do you think they'll go on for like this? either until they get bored or IW *bleep*s up again on next title and loses more credibility.

Jeremy your an idiot, Black ops 2 made more then 1 million only in Gamestop. Halo 4 made 220 million around whole world, now image what is black ops 2 sales. just shut up you damn halo fanboy
Obvious CoD fanboy is obvious.

I'm glad they added decision making, a connecting storyline, and the strike mode thing but it's just the same ol' CoD every year.

I've played It. It's the same game as all the others, exact same with a different custom class system, same guns with "futuristic 2025" models.. New maps, that is all. Zombies is zombies. Nothing really new here, besides riding a bus to each map. The bo2 maps are way better then mw3's but that's all that can be said for it really. This will get boring in a month and ill go back to bf3.

The fact that halo is only on xbox is its own fault, cod was smart enough to see they could get more money. That is why cod is both better at sales and a better game

Me.

I actually like the Halo series more but friends buy Call of Duty therefore I buy Call of Duty. It's not like the games are bad anyway. Same thing with Madden. Most people HATE it without ever playing it.

i don't think you understand it mate.
people hate this game because they have been playing the same stuff for years. the last time they hit the spot was with cod4 closely followed by WaW.

many of us still remember back when call of duty was the new game in town that managed to re-ignite the fire in the whole world war 2 fps parade back in the early 00's when it was on the edge of being milked to death by a shitload of game companies. that same thing is now happening with the modern era anti-terrorist fps category, some people once looked up to cod as the brand that sets new trends but ironically the modern warfare/era series has slowed down and is now focused on being farmed by it's owning company instead.

it also explains why some people vent their anger towards the cod fans. you'd think as fans they would understand this but instead the sales just go crazier every year.

I've played CoD since CoD4. I played CoD4 throughout the life of CoD4, WaW and MW2, before buying Black Ops and keeping up with the releases from there.

I know CoD4, it's still my favourite CoD and the CoD I'm the best at.

Every CoD after CoD4 was the same present every year, just with a new wrapping.

Black Ops 2 is a new present. Enough has been changed so the game feels different, every weapon is balanced correctly, so until you've played it, don't jump on the hate bandwagon.

Haha, Call of Duty being on all consoles doesn't make it a better game. I'm neither a Halo nor Call of Duty fan, but that point isn't even fair. You've got to appreciate what Halo and Gears of War do for the 360 - people will own an Xbox just to play those titles; just like some have done in the past on the PS3 with Uncharted and InFamous (and even Metal Gear Solid 4).

I don't think titles like Halo would suit the PS3 to be fair.

I'm 20, pal.

I was 15 when I started and was good at the game, so I didn't bother stopping.

i bet the flood of hacks changed all of that after the release MW2.
but you and me both dude i was pretty good at it too.

either way back on to what you said, being a "veteran" and tell me of a few tweaks does not sound very convincing. i always told people i would reconsider my choice if i heard some amazing stories about it but the problem is i really don't and cod has been disappointing me for years.

if you have a cellphone and it constantly lets you down you get a new one. likely the same brand because you're familiar with using their stuff. if that happens to be a problem as well you consider another brand instead of wasting money on the same thing over and over because let's face it what kind of idiot does? that's what i did after nearly 10 years. it's been fun for a long time, but it's not what it used to be. especially online, people there treat each other like dirt.

so yeah, i'm going for a ride on the hate bandwagon and i got 10 bucks saying you'l take my spot one day :3
