Like a Microsoft flavored Nintendo GamePad? I'm not so big on tablets, but I'm intrigued by their potential as a console controller.

if youll have the ability to sync a 360 controller to it and play XBLA games you purchased, i would be interested. if you can only play lame proprietary XBL games like the Windows Phone, no thanks.

It just looks like a windows 8 tablet, but I assume they will add a better graphics card to actually play XBox-like games.

Personally, I don't see this selling well. Unless it's cheap (Highly doubt something like this would be) It's not going to do well. There's a reason why the majority of gamers aren't playing their games on PC's, it's expensive.

Would be kinda cool if ms offered a service for a monthly fee where you could download an unlimited number of games for the surface, both indie and published titles

I'd rather have the one with the full Windows 8 OS, if I were to get one at all.

If this Tablet is going to be the equivalent to PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS, I might consider buying and if my Gamertag and service transfers over then it's a definite for me.

I think this is a smart part of their product evolution actually. If we think long term, say 4-5 years from now, as tablets get increasingly powerful, I can see the Xbox Surface brand being a very influential part of gaming. This says a lot about Microsoft's approach vs Sony and Nintendo - the former is trying to prepare itself for the shape of where things are headed (think Windows 8 currently treating XBL data as first class citizens rather than unimportant side projects), and Sony/Nintendo are still trying to figure out how to lock people into closed platforms.

Anyway its just lots of potential.
