Borderlands 2 cracks 5 millions sales, all part of Handsome Jack's plan
Just wait for the free-to-play Borderlands World with microtransaction guns
Borderlands 2 has hit a milstone in sales, announcing today they've passed the 5 million copies shipped landmark. For comparison's sake, Resident Evil 6 shipped near 3.7 million copies going into its launch and Capcom posted record numbers for the time period. 5 million copies of Borderlands 2 basically ensures we'll be getting more Borderlands for a long time in the future. Much more.
Randy Pitchford, oddly wearing a Randy Pitchford mask and walking across a bed of hundred dollar bills, had the following comment to bestow upon the public:
"The overwhelmingly positive response to Borderlands 2 from our fans has been incredible. Players have embraced Borderlands 2 as their next hobby with over 50 million interactions with Claptrap in the central town of Sanctuary and 12,000 real world years’ worth of time spent shooting and looting their way through Pandora! We are just getting started and have incredible momentum to improve and add to the game all the way through the holiday season and beyond. We can’t wait to show everyone what more we have in store for Borderlands 2."
It's great to see Gearbox so focused in on Borderlands' future, and even though some DLC development goes to a third party you know they're cooking up something grand behind closed doors. After the release of the Mechromancer and Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, it's exciting to think where we'll end up next.
Borderlands 2 is currently available on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I'm really excited to see the kinds of things this series has in store now.
Still selling like hotcakes regardless, and it could very well hit 5 million sales by years end I would think.
Geige/MayaSalvador/Deathtrap costumes. Preferably the kind thats not afraid to show a little skin.Tiny Tina is kind of annoying, actually. Don't understand the fan love for her.
