All these KH's comment are what I was thinking.
Sephiroth and Darth Vader in the same game? Make it happen.

Also, with the acquisition of LucasArts maybe we'll see Battlefront 3?
Do this Disney, and I'll sacrifice children for you.

KR_1250 Front page news stories automatically create threads in the forums now. If you respond to one of these threads, you'll get a notification every time someone else also responds -- even if they don't mention it to you. There's currently no way to unsubscribe to this, but I've mentioned many folk don't like it in our meetings.

As for now, there should be a (News) flag next to the title when you check a forum, in case you want to avoid the notifications.

Star Wars in KH would just turn into some horrid incarnation of Jar-Jar Finny Fun tbh.

Disney needs some new ideas tbh. They're making Toy Story 4 after what was literally the perfect ending for Toy Story with 3, now they're taking over Star Wars (which granted was already ruined, but they're bringing it back again), do we really need to keep making sequels? Find a new cash cow to milk.

...and yet they avoid sequels that people WANT, like The Incredibles 2.

They milk the series they can make toys out of to fund the original stuff. I for one am okay with this, since its not like I have to worry with seeing them.

Upon further pondering, I think the Star Wars movie can be a very good thing if they get the right director and writer on board. There are plenty of great stories to tell in the Star Wars universe, and the success of things like The Avengers prove that you can make really good movies with fans in mind.

My main hope is that they move away from the Jedi though. We've been on Jedi overload since the new trilogy and its pretty much removed all of the myth that made them so awesome in the first place. If its set after the original trilogy and outside of the expanded universe have Luke be more of a mythic figure, with the Jedi having stepped out of the limelight after the war and follow a ragtag group of adventurers through the stars.

Without 'Jedi' the essence of 'Star Wars' will be lost...May the force be with the sequel!!!
P.S. Only weak-minded director/writer/screen writer/actors can ruin the series!!!

My point is that the mystic of the Jedi was all but ruined by the prequels. In the original movies, the Jedi were this mysterious, almost god-like beings that had pretty much fallen into myth. They were unstoppable and incorruptible once they achieved their highest level, and the only ones who could fight them were evil versions of them, the two most powerful and feared beings in the galaxy. (Vader and Palpatine) Even a Jedi in training like Luke could take out the Death Star without his targeting computer, blow up an ATAT on foot, etc.

In the prequels all but the "main characters" get taken out by the joke villain battledroids or freakin' storm troopers, and they're nothing but glorified cops with laser batons.

I also thing a driving force in the originals were Han, Chewy, and Lando, all of who had more influence over the course of the plot than Luke. I'd love to see a movie/game that focuses on these types of characters, the "normal people" flying around in spaceships that aren't archetypes for good and evil. The Jedi mythos should still be around, but it should be just that, mythic.

I dunno about this. I mean, this could turn out good, but if they go a cartoon-y route... I dunno.

Yeah, I probably would too, haha. Battlefronts I and II were pretty awesome, they were the first FPS games I could get into.

Though I'm sure the underlying "spirit" on the first will be there, it doesn't pick up where they left off with one, what with Monsters University being a prequel and whatnot.

Prequels always rub some people the wrong way because it's like they can't really DO anything last with it. Mike and Sully can't die and the future can't be any different than what we already know it to be. I'm sure it will be wonderful in any case.

What the hell do you expect? When hundreds of battledroids are aiming at you, you're not going to deflect every laser. They were pretty godlike, as shown in the films and even the games, but when surrounded like at the climax of Episode II, they go down pretty easily.

I wonder what the plot will revove around for the new movies.

Yoda is dead. Obi Wan is dead. Vader is Dead. Something something DARKSIDE s dead. I can see it now. The credits finish, the score begins and the text rolls up the front of a star covered screen:

BA ba ba baah ba ba ba ba baaaah baaah

"A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...

... Everything was fine"
I'm not getting into the extended universe but I can safely say there is pretty much no time in the star wars galaxy at any point pretty much anything was fine.

Also I like how you people are still acting like Kingdom hearts 3 is ever going to come out.

Honestly I don't distrust Disney over this, Disney is a very large corporation who doesn't just make kid movies. They have whole studios that don't only do kids movies, like touchstone. I mean, they do own marvel, and that's not become ridiculously kiddy or anything like that.
Nomura has said "it's about time KH returned to consoles". If the next game after the HD remakes isn't KH3 then you're probably right. But I'm going to give Nomura the benefit of the doubt as I reckon that Versus XIII has been cancelled now...
