Dragon Quest X gets Wii U Japan release date, beta planned
In a land far, far away
MMORPG Dragon Quest X is still at Japan only status (at least for now), but hardcore fans should be interested to know the game has a Wii U release window: spring 2013, according to Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito, who spoke at Nintendo Direct recently.
More than that, an open beta will be held in February. So, if nothing else, quite a bit of raw footage should show up online while you wait for the real thing to (hopefully) eventually make it to the Americas.
For those wondering, there's not a huge difference in this version over the Wii version, though of course you get HD graphics, Wii U gamepad controls (including an option to use the thing like a keyboard).

Going to imitate a broken record and state the obvious -- Toriyama's artsyle is freaking awesome. I can't wait to see this in action in hi-def. Though I'd still rather play it..
Man, they really screwed up their launch titles. Definitely not something for everyone.
