Platform exclusive content? I know Activision are money-grubbing arses, but Ubisoft's never appeared to be that way. At least not from what I've seen of their products.

Still, why does something like this even exist in this day and age? There's almost no potential for real profit off of that move. I don't think most people who only own an Xbox are going to go out and drop $200+ on a PS3 for a few additional missions.

Reflekt All publishers are after one thing: to make money.

Just as the 360 maintains dominance over the COD series, AC has always favored PS3, with exclusive content, the PS3 trilogy, and so forth. It's business.

I get that to an extent. But I have a hard time seeing how they would lose money by making the content available for purchase later on for the other guys. Saying it's exclusive right off the bat seems like they're shutting the door way too soon if you ask me. And it's harder and slower to feed money under a door.

It probably will be released as DLC on other platforms at a later date.

Reflekt, to an extent this isn't something new to the AC series. AC Revelations came bundled with the first Assassin's Creed game on the same disk on PS3. Obviously that was because of the Blu-Ray discs that the PS3 can use but, even so, it's additional content that neither the 360 or PC versions of the game had.

As a PS3 player I'm elated with the additional content and can't wait to sink my teeth into them!

Yep. Happy about this. Looks like it's gonna be decent extra content with a good bit of story and history. Just another part to look forward to.

That isn't quite the same as saying "We have new additional content. Only you people will get to enjoy it. The rest? Muh." I guess that's more or less what gets me, is how they're basically saying this content will remain exclusive indefinitely. It seems so shortsighted for a company that wants our money.

It's nothing exactly new though, is it? The Witcher 2 only came to PC and 360, and that's an entire game PS3 gamers missed out on. (I also have a 360 so sux2bthem) but like RCG said, the AC series has always been geared more toward the PS3 players. It's all about give and take in this industry, you can't have everything all the time.

I understand we can't always get everything, but in this case it seems like a pointless move on Ubisoft's part. I don't see how saying doing so will increase profits, and if that's not the objective, what is? If they plan on releasing it for the other platforms at a later date, they shouldn't have chosen to word it that way. It's these kinds of misleading bits of information that honestly impacts my decision to support developers.

The Witcher 2 is also a standalone game, not additional content for a multiplatform game pending release. I don't think the two are all that comparable.

Ubisoft and Sony have always had a close partnership, so its only natural they'll want to keep them happy by providing additional stuff for owners of Sony's console. Especially considering the recent news of Sony's and Ubisoft's excursion into the movie business.

Oh yeah, that's right, I did read something about the movie production. Didn't really consider that, or their track record. Ubisoft's always been pegged as a mainly PC oriented company in my mind. Probably from growing up playing Rayman and PoP.

Every time I think about this game I start thinking about how cool a new Prince of Persia could be, if the Montreal team decided to make it more like the AC series. The one they released in 2008 was gorgeous, but the whole not being able to die thing really watered down the overall experience.

Dude I take it you have an xbox, and I highly doubt your complaints would even be here if it was instead an xbox exclusive.

Cool, I look forward to playing it.
This why you all should have both consoles.

From my PoV, they've always been a Sony orientated company. Especially with Rayman, growing up playing the games on the PSX and PS2.
