A PlayStation 3 trophy slip-up has revealed the title of what we can expect to be Borderlands 2's next campaign DLC pack. 'Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage' may not have that visceral attraction in its name that Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty does, but it has something else -- it has a connection to the established lore in Borderlands 2. Expect to hear more about the DLC soon, before its likely November release.
Torgue is a weapons manufacturer in Pandora, one that should be fun to have a campaign based around it. See, each weapons manufacturer specializes into various areas, and Torgue is known for its sheer power, violent naming practices, and gunmetal visual style. Essentially, it's the epitome of Gearbox's "badass" marketing strategy, and it should be no surprise a full DLC is being based around its CEO.
If you'd like a better sense of what Torgue really embodies as a gun manufacturer, here's a radio ad from in-game:
"The following message from Mr. Torgue is not related to the message of the Torgue company in any way."
"IF YOU DON'T BUY TORGUE GUNS YOU'RE [censored]ING RETARDED!"
"The preceding message from Mr. Torgue is not related to the message of the Torgue company in any way."
Borderlands 2's first campaign DLC, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, was released October 16, which is a bit less than a month after the full game was put out. Considering that the season pass of four content packs was promised for the 6 months following release, I'd say Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage could come out anywhere between one and two months from now. Gearbox is setting a blistering pace for DLC, so keep your eye out mid-November.
