Launch doesn't always go as smoothly as planned, which Sony is learning firsthand through their new PlayStation Store. As a result, the company has rolled back and restore the old PlayStation Store while they sort out launch issues.
Today marks the first wave of release, during which the new virtual storefront goes live in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and a few other territories. Unfortunately, when the redesign went live this morning, PS3 owners began experiencing problems like unreasonable load times and adding funds to their PSN wallet. A number of other problems were also reported, like the Store failing to recognize users' PlayStation Plus status.
While the old Store is active again, Sony is looking into resolving issues with the new one.
If all goes according to plan, the new PS Store will continue launching in other regions throughout tonight and well into Thursday. North America will be getting the update on October 23.
