Cooperative heist game MONACO finally has a home. It feels like the game has been frozen in time since it won an IGF award for excellence in design in 2010. Developer Pocketwatch Games hasn't even updated its blog in over two years. Andy Schatz, the sole developer, probably has a multimillion dollar story about trying to get a publisher, one which he could be contractually obligated never to share. It shouldn't matter, though, because MONACO has a home; MONACO is coming to XBLA and PC.
MONACO, as described before, is based around four player cooperative gameplay. Each player is a thief, replete with their own specialized talents, and while they must work together to conquer any given stage they must also keep in mind that the less thieves that make it home the less money needs to be shared. With a great visual style, an easy to pick up arcade feel, and a lot of complexity at its heart, make sure to watch out for MONACO -- hopefully we'll have a release date soon.
