Watch, it's probably a typo in an ancient scroll and they're actually called 'Dragonhorn' and people misread it.

It's about the supposed horn of Jurgen Windcaller, and how it actually came to exist.
I wonder how that would tie into Solstheim? Saying that though Solstheim has always been a disputed territory between the Nords and the Dunmer. And wasn't Jurgen Windcaller almost exclusively based at High Hrothgar?

First, the reasoning behind the name "Dragonborn" was already explained. The power given to the dragonborn was the ability to speak the language (shouts). This may not have been explained to those who quickly did the main quest line, but if my memory serves me correct the Greybeards go into detail about what being the dragonborn means (if you talked in depth with them).
Transformation would be highly unlikely in my opinion. You can already perform the shouts so there would be no new addition there. Also why would they include the ability to ride dragons if you would just be able to transform into one? The possible attacks would be very limited as well, so you would basically be transforming into a bigger version of a werewolf with more health, kind of pointless.
Those who have been arguing about fast travel: it depends on how you play the game to determine whether or not fast travel is worth it. For me, when I started out I ran everywhere to explore, fight, and in turn raise my stats. Now that I am a high level, I will fast travel if I am playing a quest line, or searching for specific items and know the location. However, when I have nothing to do I will travel on foot exploring whatever I can find.
Also for those who think flying would be pointless, think of this: Bethesda revamped travel by horseback when they added the ability to attack while riding. This would still be very likely to happen while riding a dragon, the controls are all there already other than a z-axis control. In Oblivion and Morrowind you could create a super powerful levitation spell or potion which you could use to ultimately simulate flying (you could also contol how high in the air you went). I see the combination of what I stated to be the most likely course of action for being able to ride dragons.

Surely something of the "Dragonborn" name will come to light? Like being able to transform into a dragon? Obviously have limits, like can only transform if low health and only lasts a short while...

I'm thinking along the lines of the 2nd Mortal Kombat film

The Gods gave you two legs, and you're not using them both for walking. I can't respect that. If you prefer to fast-travel, why not have an arrow in the knee?

This is really weird, i havent got any of the dlc but ive played it in my friends and found there is no point.

What they need to do is bring out dlc that can rival some of the workshop mods otherwise, people wont want to pay for dlc that seems 'half arsed'.

No I mean after it's thrown. Unless you want to have a respawning spear in your hand or you have an unlimited amount of spears to throw.
You would be able to pick it up like you do with any other weapon. It should go in your inventory like a sword, not like a bowl that you have to carry.
Actually, I'm being stupid. They would probably function more like arrows, or something. I used the bowl thing as a dynamic object thing. You know like when you fus something is goes everywhere and can easily be lost. Unless you want the damn thing to stick out of somebody's body or the ground. Which in all honesty would look pretty sick.

While I too would think that would be awesome the Spear would become a pickup able item then.
Why? All they have to do is, say, make holding the attack button throw the spear. Throwing isn't the same as picking up things in Skyrim at all.

Just wanted to mention I think it would be GREAT if they combined a spear's two functions. They could give you a spear and a javelin in one! I'd probably find it very satisfying to fight a monster with a spear, and throw it at them a second later.

Not against it, but you can literally walk on things and they can be like rockets.

I wouldn't say Javelins are out of the question just that Beth hasn't done a throwing Javelin before. If they can do it, and make it look good/great/sick then that's *bleep*ing awesome. I would love some Javelins.

Throwing weapons such as stars, darts and knives have been done (Morrowind) and I can totally see that. Also the difference between the weapons is that Javelins are more crazy and unpredicable.

And why the hell would you use a throwing weapon that close when you have Bows, and Magic. You would have to get fairly close to even use it.

Throwing weapons are more compact and for assassination which is why they were so good, and why they were in Morrowind because they love some assassins. If they can add Javelins in though so be it... I would love that tbh.

Melee spears would also be great. Spears were amazing in Morrowind despite there being a lack of any good artifact spears. And that was because they had the longest range, and were also quicker to use than a greatsword.

Gawsh, we're just talking about all the stuff they took out after Morrowind. Spears, throwing weapons, et cetera.
