They were idiots if they were expecting anything else.

Serves them right, regardless of them earning alot of money. It's stupid to play it on your main profile AND signed in whilst obtaining it illegally plus those developers put a ton of sweat and effort into the creation of those games.

The developers deserved better than to have their efforts minimized into torrent downloads. They worked hard and I'll gladly pay my 60$.

You guys are naive if you think:

a) These people logged on to live with their main account
b) 343 / Microsoft will lose any significant revenue from this leak

Those poor developers :'(

You guys are deluded if you think that this even puts a dent in their sales. Now after a quick look at the torrent sites. I'd say AT MOST 2k got their hands on it. Even if every single one of those pirates decided not to buy the game anymore, that won't even be a thousandth of their total sales. Not even close.

However that's unrealistic. I can guarantee a majority of them will buy it anyway. People assume that pirates just want free shit, but that's not true. While there are genuine free riders, alot of pirates do it to try a game and support the ones they like.

Yeah but Kratos, the thing is, it's disrespectful in the first place and shouldn't have been done. Halo's obviously a multi-million dollar franchise that won't be brought down by something as stupid as this.

Back in the day Microsoft had the nuts to ban consoles by serial number (not just accounts) for even signing into XBL with a modded console; I think these bans are incredibly leniant.

I feel sorry for 343 having all their hard work so haphazardly leaked, and it'll be disappointing if big spoilers are released to the general public before launch, but this won't really impact the overall sales much at all so it's not too big a deal - as long as no one tells me the ending.

Mostly it isn't fair because it destroys the joy of getting the game on the day it came out and playing it with more people. Well, they had to learn the hard way. That's the breaks and they have to deal with it.

Haha, best news article ever? Nah. It was a given that pirates would get banned, you're basically putting a big "HERE I AM WITH AN MODDED XBOX" on your Xbox. Makes it easier for the Enforcement Team to track people down. I am, however, waiting for retail copies to get leaked early like it always does. Microsoft can't do anything to the gamers in that case.

Microsoft really isn't proving anything by banning accounts and xboxs. Anybody smart enough to pirate a game and mod their xbox probably went out and bought a $20 xbox and then made a temp account for a $1. You would have to be a complete dumbass to do different.

To be fair this is actually really uncommon. Loads of games are played early, the last black ops was leaked 3 weeks prior to release and no one got banned. LA Noire also, 2 week early, no bans. Personally I think because the game is funded by Microsoft, there going down hard.

Wy Li E3 - This is not physical copy of the games though, it's pirated copies. Most games cd's actually leak and people play them early(some retailers sell them early when they shouldn't).

give me a shout if you ever pass trough south american countries, sellers buy individual copies of the game and sell them at 100% to 200% the orignal price after conversions (60X12$=720$ i bet an original copy of this game in south america will be around 900 bucks to 1200) so yeah people who cant invest 3/4 of the minimum wage chose to pirate due to none of the companies having official stores outside brazil..., yeah not all people who resort to piracy do it out of being free riders
