Halo 4 leaked to torrent sites, Microsoft investigating
Countless videos of gameplay footage surface
Although there's still a good few weeks left until the launch of Halo 4, the 343 Industries-developed Xbox 360 exclusive has been leaked onto torrent sites.
Torrent sites are hosting single ISOs of each disc (one for the campaign and one for the multiplayer component), which weighs in at 8,334MB. Other torrents contain a combined two-disc download.
Thousands of seeds are currently available, which, unfortunately for Microsoft, won't stop spreading anytime soon. The firm, meanwhile, has been busy over the weekend removing gameplay footage of the shooter from YouTube, as well as videos pertaining to the opening cinematic and, of course, the title's ending segment.
Since the leak, a series of Xbox Live profiles have been proved that they have Halo 4 running on their console. Microsoft responded to the leak with the following statement:
We have seen the reports of 'Halo 4' content being propped on the Web and are working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation.
Halo 4 is due for a worldwide launch on November 6.

Wonder if a copy was sniped during distribution? That's the most likely/common source as far as I know anyway. Seems doubtful somebody would have the case and all if an employee of the dev team had sniped it.
I see there's already a lot of video up too. I wont be watching any though as I watched a ton of footage before Skyrim was released and it just spoiled it for me
Yes it is a shame that this happened but 343i and Microsoft are still going to sell large amounts and make huge sums of money from this game. I mean Halo 3 leaked months before launch and still sold 8.1 million copies in 4 months. Sure this is a set back but it's not going to affect sales all that much.
And this just proves that PC isn't the platform where piracy is a problem. Developer and publishers really need to open their eyes.
Now I know where you are coming from developers and publishers state that piracy is an issue and they only mention PC, why is this? Well I have a theory and it stems from the fact that Consoles are a closed platform and Microsoft/Sony have the final say in what games are allowed on the platform. As a developer or publisher the last thing you want to do is start spouting comments that insinuate that the Xbox and Playstation are a hive for piracy, as yes Sony and Microsoft know it's an issue but they don't want to hear it, ultimately it's good for business to keep them happy..
So overall these guys know it happens on all platforms there is no opening of eyes to be done, they just can't say much as they need their games on these platforms.
Edit: Wait this is DC Sniper who got his name changed, Right? Not somebody who is reusing that wesker image?
