Game 4
Bans:
- Azubu Frost: Nidalee, Karthus, Maokai
- Taipei Assassins: Blitzcrank, Skarner, Sona
Picks:
- Azubu Frost (FP): Jayce, Lux, Shyvana, Graves, Lulu
- Taipei Assassins: Orianna, Mundo, Shen, Nunu, Ezreal
AZF's worst nightmare has occurred at the start of game 4. The team invaded on top of TPA's early red buff ward, and TPA was able to corner Lulu in an inescapable position -- she turned into first blood. Graves, played by Woong, decided to stay around and try and steal red buff as TPA's Mundo was taking it. Instead, he got caught by an observent shen and gave TPA their second kill.
At 10 minutes, TPA has managed to hold onto its small lead. Cleverly, they pulled a quick lane switch and managed to take dragon without contest before AZF could muster its forces. TPA still holds a 2-0 kill lead and just short of a 2k gold advantage.
At 13 minutes a Shen ultimate gank in top lane results in a double kill on the underfarmed, underleveled Graves/Lulu combo. What's of note, however, is AZF is so clearly on defensive. Their typical aggressive playstyle with heavy map control is nonexistent. They're waiting for an opportunity that may never arise. TPA now has a 2.5k gold lead.
Naturally, Azubu Frost has responded. Rather continue the laning phase that was not working in their favor, Azubu Frost gathered and began a 5v5 dance that resulted in their collecting dragon. At 20 minutes the 2k gold gap remains, but Azubu has created a chaos that may work in their favor.
The game's first teamfight, however, goes towards TPA's favor, as AZF's abililty to fight a direct 5v5 appears to be weaker than TPA's. Poke, though...
Azubu attempts to push with poke, but the pressing issue of Shen pushing a seperate lane essentially baits AZF into initiating a fight. While Orianna dies immediately, the counter iniitate ofa fed Orianna turns the fight into a 2-1 TPA battle.
The next fight is TPA's to initiate, and AZF has no response. Another 2 kills go to TPA, as well as a dragon. Woong's Graves is severely underfarmed compared to the rest of the players and it's starting to drag.
And again, TPA baits AZF into diving onto Orianna, but a Shen ult quickly turns the fight around. Counter initiation is the name of the game.TPA doesn't turn it into a baron, but the dominance in the match is clear. Still, the gold advantage is only 6k, and AZF has a very strong poke composition.
It began to look like AZF refused to initiate a fight again. A solid kill proved that wrong, however, as the team dove on a seperated Nunu. Unfortunately, it meant the death of Lux and Shyvana, resulting in TPA taking baron buff. The gold gap is now 10k and AZF's chances look bleak. Still, TPA is taking it slowly, and is focusing on pushing all three lanes instead of group pushing.
The split push has worked as Woong falls and TPA takes all three inhibitors. The end seems clear, but TPA is forced to back away, even losing Nunu in the retreat.
A final push, with each lane producing double super creep, and TPA easily takes the nexus. The Taipei Assassins win the Season 2 World Championship.
Game 3
Bans:
- Azubu Frost: Jayce, Nidalee, Karthus
- Taipei Assassins: Skarner, Blitzcrank, Sona
Picks:
- Azubu Frost: Shen, Anivia, Leona, Ezreal, Vladimir
- Taipei Assassins (FP): Orianna, Mundo, Nunu, Vayne, Jax
Despite early aggressive and many summoner spells used early, the kill count remains 0-0. As a matter of fact, even the gold tally remains practically even... maybe 100g one way or another. This looks like a potentially long match in the works unless something dramatic happens soon.
Close to the 10 minute mark Bebe on Vayne picks up first blood on Leona, who went in to support Shen stealing TPA's red buff.
At 20 minutes, TPA has used its small advantage to inch further and further ahead. The kill count stands at 4-2, and TPA managed to pick up dragon. AZF is trying to keep pace with Shen and Leona ganks, but Mundo and Jax are beginning to become unstoppable and AZF doesn't seem to have an answer.
For the first time in the tournament, we see AZF in an uncomforatable position. They are taking drastic risks to try and even the game up, chasing blind and trying to sneak a dragon, but TPA has very strong map sight and has countered all of AZF's risks. The kill count is now 11-3... wait a second, AZF has just surrendered. The best of 5 now stands a 2-1 in Taipei Assassins' favor.
Game 2
Bans:
- Azubu Frost: Nidalee, Kog'Maw, Orianna
- Taipei Assassins: Blitzcrank, Skarner, Jayce
Picks:
- Azubu Frost (FP): Ezreal, Anivia, Maokai, Jax, Zyra
- Taipei Assassins: Sona, Mundo, Caitlyn, Karthus, Shen
Sorry for the brief disruption! At 15 minutes, TPA just scored an ACE! Combine that with a followup dragon and they are up 7k gold along with a tower. TPA showing off another lane switch, denying Jax with Caitlyn's long range.
Sorry again, lots of technical problems. Actually, however, not much action has gone on since the early game. TPA's gold advantage has carried them into late game, allowing them full map control. At 35 minutes they've picked up baron and bottom lane and mid lane inhibitor. The kill count stands at 8-3 in TPA's favor, along with a 18k gold lead.
At 40 minutes, TPA gathered to take a second baron buff. AZF attempted to contest it, but too late. TPA picked up baron buff and turned on AZF, following them all the way into their base, eventually acing AZF and finishing the game afterwards. The 5 game series now stands at 1-1.
