Day 3 of the League of Legends World Championship, semi-finals schedule and matchups
Update Games have been rescheduled
Update 2: The entire set of WE and CLG.EU will be replayed, rather than just the third game.
Update: VP of eSports at Riot, RedBeard, has provided an update on the day 3 games that were postponed. The remaining games have been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 10, starting at 5PM PDT. The teams will be "separated with no visibility of the opposing team." While there won't be a live audience, the HD streams will be up and running -- though Riot is still exploring how many languages they'll be able to support.
Hey everyone, it's the third day of the League of Legends season 2 World Championship and the last before next weekend's finals. That's right, by the end of today there will be two teams remaining where once there were twelves. After the three quarterfinals games from yesterday, there's currently only 5 teams remaining, with one quarterfinal match left to play and then the semifinals.
Fair warning, if you're unaware of which teams have won or lost up to this point in the tournament, there will be spoilers ahead:
- Quarterfinals: World Elite vs. CLG.EU (12PDT, 3EDT)
- Semifinals: Moscow 5 vs. Taipei Assassins (2PDT, (3DT)
- Semifinals: Azubu Frost vs. winner of remaining quarterfinal match (4PDT, 3EDT)
It's quite remarkable that it's day 3 already and we may not have seen the best team in the tournament play. World Elite, during season 1 and on, has widely been considered a contender for best League of Legends team in the world. Today, we'll see whether that stands the test of true competition. Hopefully waiting in the stands while everyone else plays doesn't bother World Elite like it seemed to bother TSM.
For those looking for VODs (recordings) of previous games in the tournament, check out this handy Reddit page that's organized what's available: here. The World Championship finals will take place on Saturday, October 13. Here are the stream links for today's games: Official, Own3d, Twitch.

Also, the new meta: Buy armor, get oracles, pet Baron, and kill wards for 45 minutes and never engage.
Edit: ...and the first engage in 40 minutes the stream dies. >< Well I have to leave, but I'm guessing CLG has this game won. If I came back and find out they had to reset this game...hilarity will ensue.
Really think Nocturne lost that second game for WE, got caught out multiple times alone, forcing the rest of the team to flee or 4v5.
Word's still out on whether they're remaking or not... sigh. Guess we'll see.
And LoL forum I thought this was a news article?? This is technically not the LoL forum. I know you like LoL which is great but out of the A-RPG MOBA genre, LoL is mostly considered the more casual of the bunch.
CLG.EU I'm sure had that teamfight, but there was no clear winner from what I saw, yeah a bad initiation from WE's Nocturne but you never know what could've happened.
Either way one team's coming out of this butthurt because of some DDOS'er.
Seems like it's really been messing with WE either way, they've been relatively sloppy compared to that fantastic start.
Marc this is both the LoL forum, and an article. There's a link at the top of the comments if you want to see for yourself. To that end, it'd be appreciated if you stayed on the topic of the news itself, this article and thread are based on the tournament, not how much you like DOTA.
