Nintendo has just announced a number of new games coming to the 3DS eShop, and three are being brought over by Professor Layton and Wrath of the White Witch developer Level-5. They're certainly not new, just regionally exclusive up until this year.
Leaving Japan and coming to North America this fall are Liberation Maiden, Aero Porter, and Crimson Shroud, three titles originally released in across the Pacific as a part of the "Guild01" multi-game pack.
Liberation Maiden is probably the biggest of the bunch, a "full-scale 3D sci-fi shooter" from Suda51 of Grasshopper Manufacture. The setting is 100 years in "New Japan," and players take on the role of Shoko Ozora, piloting the humanoid robot Kamui.
Aero Porter combines puzzle elements with an aiport sim, designed by Seaman creator Yoot Saito. Odd, we know. Crimson Shroud, from Yasumi Matsuno of Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story fame, brings some tabletop-esque RPG to the mix.
Says Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino:
“LEVEL-5 is dedicated to empowering the world’s best game designers with the freedom to create the innovative games they truly want to make featuring the immersive stories they want to tell, and these three games are great examples of that strategy. We are extremely proud to bring SUDA51’s LIBERATION MAIDEN to North America and Europe as the first release from the series, offering true game design and production values of the highest quality through a downloadable platform.”
