I guess I'm the only one dissapointed in this. But not for the obvious reasons.

I'm dissapointed because this means that Washington won't be a bad guy in the real story. I was hoping that the "*bleep* YEA 'MERICA"-esque trailers were just marketing, and the devs were right when they said the game wouldn't be all "US=good, England=bad". I was actually anticipating a twist where the founding fathers and Washington turned out to be Templars/Masons.

But this makes it seem like I was wrong, and the game will really be all pro-US.

Yeah, because unless George Washington is a Templar the game is Pro US. You're playing as a freaking native. There is no way you will come out of the story with a totally rosy view of americans. Connor's people get screwed over.

That is a ridiculous notion to make, based on the outcome of one character who's speculation of becoming a bad guy was founded in no fact or hint, only further speculation. You've only disappointed yourself with this news because there really was no founding in the idea of Washington being a Templar. Rather than making this stupid conceptions of the game before it's release, why don't you reserve any judgement on the outcome of the "patriotism" of the game for when you've actually played it?

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of people harping on about "Oh this game is going to be soooooo pro-america because of this, this and this". So what if it is? Britain lost that war, we WERE the bad guys, even as a Briton I believe that. It's not easy to bathe us in a kind hearted light when we were the ones preventing independance from the Crown, for all intents and purposes. No one complains when an American film has a English bad guy, so why should it be any different in a game? That's not to mention that Ubisoft have declared that the game will neither be pro-america or pro-england. Ubisoft has done nothing for us to not trust them, so why are people finding it so hard to believe them? Besides, the American Revolution is just a backdrop of the game and not the main focus, so it's a totally moot argument to be making really.

Wow that picture is awesome! I honestly couldn't care less if this isn't historically accurate (I know very little about him anyway tbh ) it just looks like a really fun idea for a DLC. Not sure about buying the season pass, but I definitely hope to get this.

I agree the picture speaks volumes.

And actually its a surprisingly accurate take on washington. Theres a lot of conspiracy theories an openings for Devs to create a great story. Read my earlier post of youre curious, though youre probably not

I've seen the title a few times here and there and was immediately turned off again by more Ubisoft haggling of DLC. Now I took time to actually read this DLC and I'm glad I did. I know exactly what to avoid now.

This better be the only "what if" dlc, then again I'd much rather prefer what if dlc's to story dlc's because judging from the series past, the game will be left with a big cliffhanger only to force people to cough up more dough in order to see what really happened. That said this dlc looks stupid in a game that tried to be historically accurate, that's what made the series so fun to me imo. Will be skipping this entirely.

Ded Valve tyrant washington is still a pretty historically accurate story if they do it right. Washington was unanimously voted to the presidency, Even over Hancock and a dozen other men who were actually president before Washington in the 1780s. This could be used as a foundation for a conspiracy theory and spark other intrests like the FreeMasons. Also, he was opposed to political parties. This could show that he wanted no opposition in government. Thers so much that fits perfectly in US history which makrs it completely accurate.

I agree its obviously a long shot, but its creative, much better and more accurate than all that Abraham Lincoln vampire crap.

Whuh?? Last I checked Goerge didn't lose his shit and put a crown on his head, and where did a movie, clearly made as an action/comedy movie and a parody of a historic figure get involved in this discussion? Abe Lincoln the vampire hunter was never made to be historically accurate so it has no reason to be involved in this discussion.

That said I'd much rather Ubisoft continue to make crap like this than have us pay (AGAIN) for the real ending. So...keep it up I guess, I won't be buying =/

Red Valve the whole point is to take these small openings and turn the small facts into a big condpiracy, and then a far off new story of Americas past. Its fun, far fetched, but unique and fun!

Sorry for the reference to that Lincoln crap. Earlier in the thread ppl were referencing that as a joke and i assumed you saw that. My point is, its creative and is only a side story that has nothing to do with the real gameplay. Dont let it ruin the game for you

That is the whole point but carefully placed within real life history. Obviously the game has to take some liberties but I don't recall Washington going all Napoleon on us. Seems like such an out of place DLC that was made just to make the American side look bad (probably because Ubisoft didn't keep their promise on showing us both sides of the war and focused to heavily on red coats = bad, blue coats = good).

I agree that Washington going Napoleon would be a bit too far, but thats why theyre gonna probably try to have him assassinated before it gets too far. They might even try to make it so that manifrst destiny is the greatest evil of the Ameeicans. Idk, im just excited cuz ive always enjoyed looking at history through an altered scope of reality

This is disgusting. How could they defame such a noble legend of the US? Even if it is 'What if', the DLC itself is an insult of George Washington. I wouldn't support this or any ACIII if they continue to make fun of history and role models. Now, George Washington, who next? Abraham Lincoln? This is not funny, no matter what country the politician belongs to (Britain, US, Europe, India etc.). This is an insult of a great leader whose greatness can't be understood by the people at Ubisoft who just wish to cash in the famous people's names. That's just my opinion.
