To be fair, a lot of British Humor stems from being able to laugh at ourselves, so I guess that's why.
That is why we are awesome. Some people take things way too seriously. I bet you most of the people complaining about Washington being a tyrant wasn't actually bothered that MW2 showed Russian terrorists killing other Russinans.
As an American I'm more bothered that

a) this is more DLC crap

Don't get me wrong, I also hate the fact that its DLC. it would have tied in so brilliantly in the main game by using Washington as the antagonist, didn't the devs say it wouldn't be all 'anti-British'?

Not the point though, i was just complaing at some of the Americans crying about their 'noble' leader looking like a knob. Anywho, its just a game and I think this a good idea, I just wished the devs put it in the main game.

It would have been HORRIBLE if this was included in the main game, possibly a deal breaker as up until now, the AC series has always been as historically accurate as possible. I don't care if America is the villain or hero since the real villains are the Templars and the focus should be on them (which is why Conner is not exclusively aiding America in this war since there are templars on both sides and he still holds a grudge on what the white man did to his people). If anything the DLC should focus on the templars, the true villains, not veer off into non-canon useless dribble of G.W. being a mad king and all such nonsense.

SkX I wasn't aware you can detect emotions through text

Why are people getting so angry over a fictional/joke DLC that no one is gonna force you to buy?

Why would they put such a horrible inaccuracy in the main story of the game? As I previously states, the AC franchise prides itself on it's historically accurate settings. Placing such a thing within the main game would be counter-intuitive. Just because the story isn't set within the story doesn't mean the game is going to be anti-british / pro-america. Like I keep saying, reserve judgements of patrotisms of the game.

Guaranteed if this was an important and noble British figure head, no one would give a damn.
But that is because nobody cares about British people...Oh sorry I meant to say that americans are just silly and get butt-hurt easily.

b) This is a non-canon what if scenario that doesn't add to the story and isn't trying to fit itself in real world history which is what got me (and many others) so fascinated by the AC series in the first place. I couldn't care less if George Washington was an evil power hungry man who wanted to be king if that actually happened in history or if the Assassins Creed series was a series about a completely altered history rather than trying to squeeze into our real life history. And I know a lot of other people that don't like it for the same reason, for a story heavy game like Assassins Creed this seems really stupid.

Anyone else notice the piece of eden that he has in that picture?
In 1778 it was reported in a newspaper that washington had a vision of the future (intercontinental railroad, airplanes, civil war, world wars, US strongest nation)
Washington said he saw a woman in light, an angel (possibly Minerva)

I think that would be really cool if they incorperate this all and link it to the fact that he's holding the apple of eden in that picture.
That would be absolutely amazing.

Yup, you're most likely right. I know I wouldn't, but then I don't give a damn that it's George Washington either. I just think it'll make a fun and enjoyable piece of gameplay and story. I didn't realise people would take this so seriously, as it's just a game. But I guess that's why Ubisoft left things like this for DLC; as you can avoid it if you don't like it.
