Assassin's Creed 3 season pass announced, first DLC is 'The Tyranny of King George'
Yes, AC3's first DLC will be about taking down George Washington
Ubisoft has a couple of Assassin's Creed III announcements to make today. The first is the announcement of a season pass, granting access to five downloadable content packs at a lump price that's 25% less than each pack individually. The second announcement is 'The Tyranny of King George,' a DLC campaign that spans three content packs that focuses on the events following the American Revolution. Yes, Assassin's Creed III's first DLC will be about taking down George Washington.
Ubisoft executive producer Sebastion Puel adds his perspective towards the design decision to make George Washington a villain:
"History is our playground – and AC teams have always loved playing with historical facts and their consequences as a way to better understand a time period. While Assassin’s Creed III concentrates on history as it happens, we wanted to take some liberties with this DLC and tell you how things ‘could have happened."
To help establish this bizarre direction, Ubisoft sets this DLC up as George Washington "succumbs to the temptation of infinite power" and that new protagonist Connor must now "dethrone a tyrant." Makes you wonder where DLC will go from here.
Now, I was actually more interested in Assassin's Creed III after their Boston Tea Party trailer. It's an event that can be played with, where background motivations can be molded and toyed with to create intrigue and suspense. This, though... this is George Washington. How can you take George Washington and turn him into a villain without breaking that sense of immersion. Just look at this image, of Washington on a throne with a golden crown, flanked by gestapo-like guards. What is Ubisoft doing?
Back on subject, the season pass for Assassin's Creed III will cost 2400 MSP or $29.99 at 25% off standard prices. It will include 5 content packs, three of which appear to be 'The Tyranny of King George,' but are also said to include multiplayer maps and characters. In addition, season pass holders will gain access to the DLC a week earlier than individual pack purchasers. Of note, the season pass appears to be for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but not for the Wii U -- though the Wii U will receive the packs individually. All content will be available within 6 months of the game's release on October 30 (Nov. 20 for PC, Nov. 18 for Wii U).

It's George Washington, The Dastardly Evil King of America.
How cool is that?
hurr hurr
bluexy, to be fair History has always been the playground of those creating the AC universe, I'm rather excited on them totally adding an additional parallel Universe on what could have happened. Adds a certain quirkiness to the series. Things get boring if the devs don't mix it up from time to time.
The Father of America, portrayed as a villain, sounds funny.
I wonder if he also has a maniacle laugh.
You just know his ultimate weapon is his Wooden Teeth, he'll probably send little flying wooden teeths with bombs strapped to it like a magician to any foe that stands before him.
But be sure to avoid the big one in his mouth.
That one stings like the dickins.
That said, LOL that said I have the money for this when it hits market (I won't) I am sooooo gonna buy that season pass. I mean, just the way that art has Georgey boy with the POE Apple is ridiculously awesome. xD
