Yakuza 5, Fist of the North Star inspire some tacky PlayStation 3 designs
Special editions gotta look special, right?
Special edition consoles tend to make us salivate, but we're not as certain about these newly unveiled PlayStation 3 designs, inspired by Yakuza 5 and Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2.
The PS3s in question are still black, with a decorative trim and matching controller. The Yakuza PS3, from the Yakuza 5 "Emblem Edition," has gold emblems representing each of the crime families. Not shown in the images is a themed USB drive.
As for Ken's Rage 2, we have the "Legend Edition," featuring characters from the series (check the gallery below). The matching controller is supposed to boast a Big Dipper pattern, but we're really not seeing it.
These are obviously a Japan-only affair, where both franchises (and the PS3) are better received. The special Yakuza console is set to arrive December 6, and the Ken's Rage 2 console will be released December 20. Just in time for Christmas.
