Gerald9087 - Huh, still doesn't give the specific model does it? Well, whether it's the 5570 or 5550 (I think it's a 5550 based on the memory speed, I think that's what DAC type is anyway) it won't be great for the game.

Should be playable on medium settings I'm guessing, though I expect it would slow down at some points in the game.

We'll have to wait and see.

Nope. Maybe, possibly smooth on low, but I wouldn't count on it even then. It's an open world game, you might do alright in indoor environments but as soon as the going gets tough, your computer will probably go "No, I'm not doing this anymore thanks.".

Your CPU is well below minimums, and your GPU was a bit crap in its price range when it came out about half a decade ago. It doesn't even have the the requisite 512MB they want, but rather 256MB (I don't see any 512MB models anyway and there wouldn't be much point anyhow).

Not really, no.

Maybe on Low, possibly Medium (at lower resolutions without AA/AS) but that's about it.

You should be able to run it well, but I think max is a bit hopeful. Could be wrong though.

i know the minimum memory they ask for is 512mb. i have a shared memory system where the dedicated amount is 64mb and it draws the rest depending on what is running. will ac3 scan for only the 64mb and not run or will it account for the total available graphics memory? please and thank you

Pretty much any card that doesn't rely on its own dedicated memory, and instead shares memory won't be good enough to play this game, certainly not well anyway. I would imagine it's an Integrated Circuit rather than a proper discrete GPU Chip (certainly I don't think it would be a separate board in any case).

What is the GPU?

Should be very playable on Low, maybe Medium with some settings turned down/off (namely PhysX, as it would have too much of a performance hit most likely, assuming this game offers PhysX anyway). Both the processor and GPU are dated (I'm guessing the computer is 3 years old or so?). Chances of playing on High/Max are not the greatest. The hardware was good at the time, but they're quite dated.

However, using Windows 8 with that isn't helping your case. As much as I say leaving Windows XP behind is a good thing (it's about a decade old now folks), it is still a good choice for DX9 gaming when using dated hardware. How much of an impact it will have, I don't know.

Alright, so...I have a similar question. I have the game installed but right after the scene where they're in the van (yeah, 4 minutes into the game) the game stops responding. I don't know whats wrong but I suspect its my laptop (which is...yeah...)

Anyway specs are:

CPU:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10GHz (which I know doesn't meat the reqs)

RAM:
6

Video Card:
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
-Dedicated Video RAM 64 (again, I know it doesn't meat the reqs)
-Pixel/Vertex Shader 4.1

If you need anymore go ahead and tell me but I can play all the other Assassins Creed games, Skyrim, Borderlands 2 and Dishonored pretty easy (although I should probably get another fan for them) but is AC3 THAT much more demanding or did I install is wrong somehow?

-Thanks!

Squaresoftgamer - It's possible that it's a bug. Or just that your Driver and Game are disagreeing with eachother. You definitely don't meet the requirements, but if it was anything I'd say it was your GPU. It is integrated onto the chip and doesn't have much dedicated video ram, which is never a good sign.

I haven't played the game yet, but do you actually get to a point where you can play the game (move around and such)? It might be that the first few minutes of the game are movies.
