If the rest of your specs are fine, it should be perfectly playable. You just won't be able to ratchet all the settings up to max.

For anyone looking for the correct, and actual min sys req. Please go to the link below. All very safe and virus checked.

I must say, Neoseeker have allowed incorrect info to be posted on their forums.

AC3 WILL NOT RUN ON XP.
Nowhere in the article did it mention it would run on Windows XP, only that previous games used to run on the operating system.

quote
One of the biggest things to take away from all of this is the operating system requirement does not list Windows XP. The previous games did, and even though AC3 needs DirectX 9, Windows XP users have been left by the wayside. Microsoft is retiring the venerable OS in 2014, so perhaps this is another reminder to upgrade.
These are also the minimum requirements posted by Ubisoft to support the game. Ergo, they're not incorrect.

I'd suggest you exercise better reading habits before accusing us of posting inaccurate information.

Holy crap.

The game i have downloaded on XP, there are technical difficulties playing the game. No matter what, Assassin's Creed 3 WILL NOT run on XP without some kind of manual tweaking (which no, i cannot help with).

Its because a. XP = Legacy soon. Therefore wont be supported on any new game (thats presumptious, i could all depend on the requirements of the game) b. XP does not work on Directx9.x+ and Assassins creed 3 requires DirectX 10.

Yes, I DID RE-INSTALL MY OS TO PLAY THE GAME!!!!!!

Beth101 gaming on notebooks is traditionally pretty discouraged. Your notebook is especially an old one, looking at the CPU. You definitely won't be able to run ANY modern games on it, let alone AC3.

Go invest $600 or so in a new desktop PC (with i5 2400 or higher CPU) with the christmas sales on and you'll be able to play any newly released game on the market for at least the next year. Spend another $200 or so on upgrades for that PC and you'll be able to play any newly released game for the next 3 years.

Check out our Computer Hardware & Overclocking forum for any help with your PC.

Beth101 - No, not really. Low maybe, but that's about the best possible. I don't know the details of the Express series 4 chipset TBH, but yeah...

Crusad3r - True, the graphics aren't exceptional but the world is open, and the graphics processor the person is using is integrated.

Also, last I heard (late November), the game forced certain settings which made it worse on low-end GPUs (AA forced On, and Shadows were stuck on Normal or something).

Honestly... these minimum requirements remind me again why games ported from consoles suck.

Those are really low requirements for a modern PC game.

robisay You can play it on medium to high settings.

Shadow of Death, I think you're overestimating the graphics on AC3. It's really not that great.

robisay - Nope, at least not very well (might manage it decently smooth on Low, but that's about the most you can hope for). Integrated graphics, while they have improved greatly in recent years, are still pretty terrible with newly released games.

Holy crap.
I doubt it'll actually need that much space. They always say it's more than it actually takes up, often by a wide margin.

For example, BL2's minimum requests 13GB free, but even with 2 of the season DLC, plus the Mechromancer DLC and Creature Slaughter Dome, it's still only about 7.1GB.

The order of the comments is completely buggered on the main article page >_>

Eh, it'll probably fix itself, but still.
