Nintendo has confirmed that the Wii U will be region locked.
A console being region locked means you won't be able to import games from Japan or America and play them on your European Wii U and vice versa. However, the confirmation shouldn't come as too much of a surprise with Nintendo region locking the 3DS and the Wii.
The Wii U will first launch in the United States on November 18, with a base price of $299. European regions are due to receive the next-gen console on November 30. Japan, meanwhile, will receive the platform on December 8.
