Capcom is giving Dragon's Dogma players another reason to get back into their hit RPG by adding Hard Mode and something called Speedrun Mode. The former is definitely something fans have been asking for, but that doesn't mean we won't take two new modes.
Hard Mode is as it sounds. Enemies will be more difficult, but players who tackle this mode also earn equipment rewards for their troubles. As for Speedrun, this mode basically pushes players to beat the game as quickly as possible, while completing certain time-based objectives. Doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me, mind you, but participation does net "in-game equipment." We'll assume that equipment is substantially epic.
The two modes will be added for free before the end of this year. In 2013, however, Dragon's Dogma will be getting a full expansion, titled Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, which we assume will not be free. Capcom didn't actually give up any details other than the title, but here's a teaser shown at Tokyo Game Show. It has... dragons.
