Level-5 announces Fantasy Life for the 3DS with adventuring, crafting and well, everything
Seriously, Level-5, why are you so awesome?
Level-5 had one more surprise after their Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney trailer at TGS 2012 today, the announcement of a new 3DS game: Fantasy Life. Imagine a combination of adventuring, crafting, exploration and customization -- it really looks like a Harvest Moon MMO. Seriously, I wish I understood Japanese so I could actually tell what this game is about, because there's just so much going on.
In the trailer we see a mixture of the beautiful animated cutscenes we're becoming so used to with Level-5. Sprawling mountains and deep valleys, curious cities and pirate ships, the world of Fantasy Life looks absolutely charming. From a gameplay point of view, it very much has a Harvest Moon/Little King's Story style. Whether that proves to be the actual case, well, hopefully translations will be showing online soon.
Fantasy Life is, I believe, scheduled for release on December 27 in Japan, and Level-5 has made no announcement about a western release. Level-5 really is making the case for the 3DS that Nintendo isn't. Keep it up guys, and bring these games state-side!
