Zone of the Enders: Enders Project revealed, currently in concept only
Start up that Orbital Frame, it's going to get crazy
It's the news so many fans have been waiting for, Zone of the Enders: Enders Project has been revealed. Kojima Productions has begun a new project in the Zone of the Enders franchise, though the title is merely in concept for now -- a sequel has not been green-lit, thought Kojima and crew really want to make it happen. Due to being in pre-production, and Kojima's business with other projects, the team currently only includes Ryosuke Toriyama (Busou Shinki series) and original ZoE mecha designer Yoji Shinkawa.
Thus, all there really is to show is a lot of awesome concept work, including a full-on statue of Enders Project's protagonist, and a CG model of the mech built in Kojima's own Fox Engine. If you want a few factoids, here's what's leaking out from the event so far:
- Enders Project is a sequel to Zone of the Enders 2, known as Anubis in Japan.
- Enders Project is set in an ancient, likely Egyptian-themed, civilization rather than the dystopian future of its predecessors. How this works out as a sequel and not a prequel is unclear.
- Yes, the title would be made in Kojima's new Fox Engine, if the project does eventually get made.
For more images from the Zone of the Enders event, along with plenty of more shots of the concept art and statue, Neogaf's community has a pretty good collection going. It may not be official yet, but fans should be excited that Kojima Productions is trying to get a Zone of the Enders sequel off the ground.
